Twitching Muscles

I have read on here people mentioning twitching of muscles lots of times. Face, arms, legs, etc. I know they can be irritating as I have had facial and fore arm twitches in the past, But I am wondering how severe these Twitches get to be!

Twice now in the last month I have gotten a twitch between my thumb and index finger. Both times the twitching went on for hours on end. But what really bothers me is that afterwards I have had a bruise show up in the area of the twitching. Does anyone else get bruises for their episode of twitches?

The twitching I have had has at times seemed like it last hours or days. My fingers are pretty noticeable when I get them there. I get it pretty bad at times but it's gotten quite a bit better than the first year or two. I haven't noticed bruising though. I have to admit, it's become such a regular thing I tend to ignore it now unless it is in an unusal place.

No I never rubbed or held down the area. I just sat there watching it as until then I never even thought of there being muscles in that area. So I guess I was more fascinated by what was going on than anything else.

Hey Dinnis,

I have twitching muscles that can last hours or sometimes days, I've also blown a few superficial veins but I cant recall ever noticing if there is any muscle activity going on prior to finding the bruise. The times when i've found a an oddly placed bruise eg between middle and index finger, they just seemed to have turned up.

Actually thinking about it, my muscle twitching spots/areas are nowhere near where these odd bruises have turned up, different parts of my body so i'm going to have to assume that for me, they are unrelated.

Cheers...........JJ

PS Just a thought but whilst the twitching was going on, did you by any chance rub or hold down the twitch and maybe thats caused the bruising? lol just thinking out loud :o)
