Best way to request financial assistance with infusion.....please!

Hi and thanks in advance.  I got financial assistance from Tysabri, but after having 3 infusions, finally got an invoice for the first infusion.  My responsibility is over $350.  No way can I afford that every month.

Avonex cost me around $25 a month.   I was on that for 14 years.  Not so sure about this whole thing yet.

Does anyone have any ideas about the best way to get financial assistance:  from the hospital where I get my infusions or directly from Tysabri?

Thanks - I'm waiting for a call back from Tysabri.  I just spoke to them last week - so if I don't hear in a few days will bug them again.  Thank heavens for the help - from them and you all!

Biogen has programs (and so do the other DMD manufacturers) to help with this cost.  And they even have other referral programs to help with the cost if you are on government insurance that keeps you from using their regular assistance program.  Make the call and keep asking to speak to someone who can help if you get negative responses from the intial calls.

Kyle's response is on the mark! I just had a  call fom Biogen's financial asistance program to update my status and make sure that the Tysabri AND the administration fee (probably your $350) are covered by Biogen.

Please call them back and see if you qualify for this generous offer.

There is a program at Biogen Idec, the makers of ysabri, call ActiveAccess. It is the $$ help program. I would suggest you contact them directly. More information on the program is here:
