Hi love,
I know I use a low setting on my parts that are tight, mostly my outside thighs. I dont have any more trouble than normal.

Hi Rendean, I have M.S. and have had severe pain at times in my thighs in the injection sites also. There is a tendency for a lump to form on my thigh area then other places. I took 6 months off entirely from injecting in either leg and then returned very cautiously to the tender area. Spasms are a big part of the difficulty for me too. I switched to taking my shots just before bedtime, because this way I was NOT standing, walking or otherwise putting pressure on my legs after a shot, this helped. Also, I now give my thighs the injector out of the self-injector ( which I otherwise like quite a bit) , give myself the shot while standing and as a personal preference, I do not pinch the skin, I just ease the needle in and withdraw slowly. Stay away from the inner thigh completely. I hope this helps you, yet, keep in mind I am only an expert in the fact that I am a member of the M.S. club and not professionally trained. If you don't consider my countless hours of research on the Internet and my own experiences. Laurie
Since you don't have to do any pinching up when you use the auto-injector, I wonder if you could set it at a low number and make sure it doesn't go very deep.
On the other hand, I understand your hesitation to set off any chain reactions just because of proximity. Good for us all that we have multiple choices when it comes to injection sites.

Lu,
Yes, it's a sub-q injection but I have hit the muscle before, just because I know it's one place with little sub-q fat on me, not that I don't make up for it in the hips :-).
My thighs are tight, even look toned from exercise (not) and there is no way I can squeeze any skin or sub-q fat since the muscle spasms have started. the muscle spasms and spasicity to this degree is new to me and usually only occurs in my calves.
I've rotated all the other sites and am reluctant to make my present pain worse. Usually my thighs are just a jiggly mess.
Thanks for taking the time to answer!
Have a good week,
Ren
When we inject we aren't connecting with muscles, right? It is administered just below the skin and not into muscles. I don't think the injection would trigger spasms, but of course I am no expert and not a doctor. If I'm wrong it wouldn't be the first time.
be well,
L
