rib aches

Hi

I have had neurological symptoms for some time now and I am currently waiting to see the neurologist about mri and blood test results, should be soon.

For the last week I have been having some terrible aches below the rib cage which radiates around the back and also down my left arm causing tingles and nubness in the end of my fingers. I am aware of the ms hug but mine feels like it is more to do with digestion etc. It starts out as a hungry feeling but almost immediately turns into a dull ache and I am experiencing the same pain in the left arm. It seems strange that if it is to do with digestion that it should affect my arm. Saw the doctor last week and he prescribed hysceine? for muscle spasms. The left side of the rib cage is worse. I have had a lot of pain in the left arm before but not with the pain in the ribs etc. Does anyone relate to this?

Thanks

KU is absolutely right that the first thing to have them look at is a cardiac cause.

Digestive problems, especially GERDs can also cause big discomfort.  I had something Saturday morning that had me debating about a detour to the emergency - the pain was excruciating and I was pacing the floor.  Pardon the unladylike TMI here, but a rather healthy belch after I threw down a handful of TUMS, quieted the discomfort.

I hope you get some answers from the neurologist soon.
be well,

Did they do an EKG to make sure this is not heart related?  I hope they find out answers soon!
