How many people have MS?
It is estimated that 21,000 people in Australia have MS. An estimated 2,500,000 people are living with MS worldwide.
MS Australia states the above but how they came up with those figures i couldn't say, though the Australian stats i thought came from our government rutine census, thats also self reporting and thats just a guess. I went looking for the answer of where it came from and can't really pin it down.
Cheers...........JJ
great question. From what I have heard at talks, the number of people in the US with MS is a self-reported number through the NMSS, That number is the people who have contacted NMSS and reported themselves as being diagnosed with MS. That leaves the big question - how many people have not contacted NMSS to register and ask for literature or help?
