Do you have a regular typo ?

Just for fun, I want to know if any of you have a typographical error that you regularly make?  I have one that my fingers always type wrong and a psychiatrist would have a good time with this....

I cannot type HEALTH  without it coming out HEALTHY. Even just now when I tried to type health I added the Y on the end.... Every time I type a reference to our Health Pages I have to correct Healthy!

Boy is that my subconscious speaking to me or what?

So that's my burning question - does anyone else what an error like that they just can't overcome and is part of their brain now?

Be well, Lu

I don't think I type harder, but I was having this problem where I would be resting my hands on the keys and all the sudden, without realizing it, I would be pushing down lightly on a key and have a whole row of (usually) s's or d's. It was very annoying, but seems to have receded again recently.

I also have a big problem with accidentally hitting the alt or ctr or windows key in the lower left and all the sudden my computer is doing something I totally didn't intend for it to do and I have no option but to wait for it to stop.

So now for the next part of my question about keyboarding.... can you type lightly or do you pound the keys like I do?  LOL

I'm really not starting another discussion, but do notice I type pretty loud these days....

touch typing with a heavy touch,

I do most of these things. What's worse, no matter how many times I proofread, I don't catch them all. It's like I just don't see the errors. I'm dreading the day that I send out an utterly bizarre work-related email. I do periodically realize that I've sent out something that makes no sense, but so far nothing that people seem to think is over-the-top weird. It makes me cringe a lot, though.

Funny stuff, and so glad I'm not alone!  My newest annoyance is using "their" when I should use "there".  Drives me nuts, but I keep on doing it.  I also have a soft touch on certain keys. . . although I think I've spelled a word correctly, I will have omitted the same letters over and over . . . usually letters hit by my ring finger.

nuero!

I also fairly often space before I'm through with a word, so that the last letter of the word starts the next word.

I need to use the word "structure" a lot, but often write "sturcture."

Other than type-o's, I'm also awful with homonyms, and need to pause longer than I'd like to decide which is appropriate.  I often mix up your and you're.  I also sometimes mix up words that sort of sound alike, but have totally different meanings, like angles and ankles.

It's embarrassing!

Where shall I begin?  I gt the letttesr in reverse order - and sometimes leave letters off, or use too many.  For a long time, I owudl type homynyms fort he word I wnated.  Things are better than they used to be!  I don't get homynyms mixed up whti the rghit word as much any more, but as you can see, I still mix up my letters someghtni awful.

As Quix said, posting taesk me a lot longer than it used to.  I used to type 65 words a minute!  Now, not so much.

I seem to make "going" into "goings" all the time.  I type a lot of words backwards often.  Not totally backwards but I'll get the letters in reverse order.  Who doesn't do that though, right.  :)

Yup, you know it!!! Like so many on here, I too have typo's.--Mine is the word, what, (as seen on a recent post, and yup, I know I'm doing it but can't change it.  I'd make my old English teacher cringe! God rest her soul! hehe

Thanks all for sharing - especially the laughs.  We are a seriously messed up group, aren't we?  ha ha.  My former supervisor is named Brian and we regularly would laugh about the mail that would come adressed to Brain.  Spellcheckers only help so much......

Speaking of spellchecking, I don't use one for my posts here - i figure your brains cn figure out what i am typing.  kind of like our own Ms form of text messaging short hand.  :-)

be well, Lulu

I'm the same as everyone I think - transposing letters. I call it 'dyslexic typing'. My worst ones are ahve for have, brian for brain (bad in here!) and pretty much anthing -oops- anything with an 'h' followed by 'a'.

My brian hurts....:P

OMG, the pubic thing, reminds me of a call from my mom a few years back.  She had a hard time asking me about it, but knew I was really comfortable with medical stuff and body parts, so she tried.

She told me about this problem that she was having in her PUBLIC area.

I was walking through Art in the Park, and had to bite my tongue, go find a quiet spot and lean against a wall in order to give her a clear answer and not laugh.

She was a very private person, didn't like to discuss sex; I learned about my period in school, and sex from books.

my all time goof, which I have done, is pubic, when I intended public.  I have done this at least three times in papers I have written and distributed to staff.

I transpose like crazy (in fact, just wrote "carzy" typing that). Any word that has a p and a y next to each other drives me nuts. I have to type the word "analysis" a lot, and it's IMPOSSIBLE for me to do without several tries. I'm going to type what I just typed above without making any corrections, and you'll see how bad it is:

OMG!  You are all me!  I do all of those things.  It takes for friggen ever to edit my posts so you all will have some trust that I know what I am doing.

My biggest is completely consistent, even when I try to think aout it = becasue

also adn, soem, thnaks, Quiz, Helath Pages

Then there are timnes when I transpose letters in practivally every word.

And the same problem not being able to tell the difference between sound-alike words.  I also make up my own sound alikes like - brane lesions.

This is fascinating!  and resassuring.  Thnaks, Lulu

This sounds pretty familiar.  I started reading this thread, thinking I'd type how I sign my name Kahty fairly often, but the further I read, I had to confess that my fingers mess up the order of the letters in words, and that I have found myself using the dictionary in my Edit menu, as spelling of words isn't as automatic with me any more.  I could always tell by looking at a word if it was spelled right, but there is a definite hesitation now.  I was an ace speller, too, as I have always read, and can spell words that I might not know how to pronounce.

Funny aside about book larnin'; I was pronouncing Quix as Kee in my head, as in Don Quixote, until I actually spoke with her, and she explained (very kindly) that most people pronounce it Kwicks.  She said it was probably because of my having taken French for a few years; that would be the French pronunciation.

I looked it up, and all these years I have been pronouncing the word quixotic (mostly in my head) incorrectly!  :o)

Kathy (I spelled that right, first try!)

Yes, I seem to have a lot of the same problems as everyone else. Having been an ace speel, oops - speller, I have trouble with spelling the most simple words sometimes! It happends (ahem) to everyone, I think, though. But if I'm in a brin (brain) fog, it is ever so much harder!
