EEG and MRI's are complete..

Hi everyone. My kids are out of school and I have been busy, so I haven't been on.

Update from when I was here last... I had an MRI w contrast that showed several lesions. Two the neurologist was most concerned about. He sent me for three EEG's. The nurse called and said the Visual Evoked Response test came back abnormal... she said something like he (the dr) thinks its more ms then a stroke..   Has anyone else had an abnormal test for this... I go back in next Friday to discuss my options of a spinal tap or I don't know if he will start me on something?

It feels like it has been a very long journey so far! lol I don't know how you all have done it. I have weird symptoms that come and go. Like pin and needle feeling in my foot/ face or my most irritating is my arm going numb. It has happened while playing the piano at church. I am not as tired as I was, but I still lack energy.

The thing that scares me the most is how forgetful I feel. This will sound crazy, but I hear someone say something, but it is taking a moment to register... I have been taking vitamins and trying to get healthy. I have gained weight, I think it is from lack of energy, because I am not eating anymore than I was. So I have started to eat less and am going to start walking.

My headaches are pretty much gone, I get them maybe twice a wk and that is wonderful! The tightening around my chest has not been happening anymore either.

Its nice to read through all of everyone's post and the advice that is given by those that have went through the same.

Hi! I just had my follow up and still no dx but more testing! ya ;) lol not really! My MRI showed several lesions, but he said they are unspecific...

I talked to a friend recently with a lot of the same symptoms and she said she was low on Vitamin B and had to get injections... something worth looking into.

Hope you get answers soon!

Thanks for responding. My children are wonderful. Rotten, but I wouldn't trade being their mommy for anything. My daughter is 11, and my boys are 9 and 6 :)

I have another question! I went to my follow up apt and he said the my lesions on the MRI are unspecific, what does this mean?

Also, I had two abnormal EEG... the neurologist is now sending me for an MRI on my neck and spine... Is it normal for all this testing.

I know something is not right because of the way I feel, but I feel like I just keep going for test and they come back abnormal, and he says he's still not sure if its MS.  Sorry to rant!

How is your Summer going? Pray all is well.

I also have the pins and needles, numbness, have had the tightness around rib cage, speech issues, hemiparesis, Trigeminal neuralgia, and my memory is shot (and am also without a dx :-) ...).  My numbness now hits my whole right side -- thankfully at this point the worst is over and I'm only having pseudo-exacerbations (due to overheating or stress).  Still, it's frustrating when you're in the middle of something and your right side decides to quit :-P.  Not being able to trust what your body can do is a strange experience.  My short-term memory has recovered a bit from where it was ... thank goodness because it was getting scary.

I have an appointment at an ms clinic July 4 -- I'm pretty worried because I've now had three specialists "unable to see anything on the mri" and ranging from "it's definitely not ms" to "i'm quite sure it's not ms".  The radiologists saw a lot lol.  I hope it isn't ms, but my gp doesn't think they are getting the whole picture.  I'm trying to go in to this appointment with low expectations.  This process sometimes takes a long time, and I'm already frustrated with the ups and downs :-P.

Keep us posted!

How are those three boys doing?  I hope they have a pleasant summer break and you have some help around to take them for a few hours once in a while so you can take care of yourself.

Please don't be in too big of a panic right now about the memory issues.  Funny how the brain will respond to stress - which you are under a lot of right now - and often just stop taking in new information.  After my heart attack I had a great conversation with the cardio nurse about this same topic.  Her advice was to stop pressuring myself to mentally perform and it would get better.  And it did!  The more we push ourselves the worse it can become.  If the cog fog issues continue in a few months, then you need to talk with the doctor.

good luck with this next round of doctor appointments and getting answers.
