I need my results!!!!

It has been twelve days since my spinal tap, and still no word.  I called my neruo's office today, and the nurse told me that the results did come in today, and that she would have the doc. call me.  He never called, so I called back at the end of the day, and she said that he was on call today and was only in for 30 min. (he left shortly after I called the first time).  I like to think that it should be good news, if he didn't call right away, but then again, he was there such a short time, he may not have even seen the report.  Hopefully, he will call me tomorrow, but I believe Tues. is his day in another office in a different town, so who knows.  I will be calling the office again, though.  They probably think I am so aggravating, because I call all the time...LOL.  Oh well.....it's my life we're talking about, right?  I'll keep ya'll posted!

Well....I called again today, and got an explanation.  ALL of the results aren't in yet.  They now only have the typed report from the radiologist about the procedure.  They are still waiting on the Lab results (levels, etc.) to come in.  But, hopefully, they won't take long.  Thanks for your responses.  I see now that 12 days is ahead of typical schedule for this type of test, so I'll just hang on a while longer (like I have a choice, LOL).  I so hope that these results give me some answers.  Love to all, Tiff

Hi all,
My LP results took almost 3 weeks to be returned.  AND they were done by a doctor in the MS clinic - the neuro warned me in advance that it would take a while.  I hope your LP gives you some definite answers.

My best to you, Lulu

Waiting is so hard! Yea, they probably do think you are a pain...lol, but what the heck, who cares..ha/ha.

Like Wonko says, some take longer than others, specifically, the O-bands will probably come in last. Hope the report has it all - it's only been 12 days, that is pretty good for it all to be complete.

All the best to you, hope you find out what is going on, and soon.

My LP order had lots of tests on it.  I don't remember what they all were, but some were quick and others took time, and some had to go to different labs.

When I had my LP, the results for banding (one of the tests done for MS) took close to 2 weeks.  The spinal fluid had to go to a lab in CA, and I'm on the east coast.  I also think that some of the cultures and other tests done required several days.

So hang tight, hopefully all the results are in soon.  If the results are in and just not being communicated to you, I'd just go in person.  While that may be a time commitment, it sounds like not having the results has been a pretty big distraction.  If you go, ask for a copy for your records.

Good luck!

Hi Tiffany,
I know what you mean, I too are waiting for results very impatiently and waiting stresses you more and prob makes everything worse.  Good luck with your results, I don't know your history but I hope that they are all good results. For myself I don't know what to wish for anymore.

Cheers,
Udkas.
