Not the beginning of a Relapse....

Hi all!  Well an update on last weeks post.......It was not the beginning of a relapse, it was the beginning of a nast chest cold!  My eyes are dried out and burning, and the cough....Well lets just say incontinence and pregnancy go hand in hand!  Verry low grade feaver off and on.  Rich has a stomache bug too.  Pray that I don't get both!!!!!!

Oh yea, and I faild the one hour gestational sugar test.  I have got to go back and do the 3 hour one.  I was reading on line that you should not take it when sick.  Anybody ever hear of this?  With my last pregnancy I had a chest cold that lasted form Christmas eve past delivery in early May!  Will i get healthy enough to take the test?

Going to bed soon!  Richs birthday is tomorrow and mine is Sunday.  What a great time to be sick LOL!!!

Beautiful name, and congratulations. I wanted to address the blood sugar issue and illness. Based on an experience with our son when he was hospitalized with RSV as a baby, we were told he had high blood sugar but that he wasn't presenting like a diabetic child and that it was most likely from the illness. The nurse told us an illness can cause a rise in blood sugar to abnormal levels if it's severe enough.

Thanks for all the good birthday wishes.  It is Wednesday.  I just noticed that i said it was Sunday.  At leist I think that Wednesday is the 13th :-)  We had a carrot cake for Richs today, and I ate the sugar with a grin.......  I do monitor my sugar at home from time to time. I was hypoglucemic when I was heavy, and the steroids can doa number on me.  My numbers have been within the acceptable range.  But, I really don't tank up on carbs without a substantial helping of protein.  I think that I willl wait to take the 3 hour test until next monday.  I have to eat that nasty Fajans diet for 3 days prior and fast the morning of.

The baby now has a name! It is Vivian Hope

The joys of being pregnant--NOT!  Best of wishes on passing your diabetes test.  I didn't like the drink that they had me drink, but that was over 19 years ago.  I have a feeling that this drink tastes better, now.

Get out the hand sanitzer and wash your hands like crazy!  Avoid putting your fingers in your eyes or up to your nose.  Hopefully your little ones won't be coughing in your face!

Happy Birthday, Ann!  I hope it was a wonderful, healthy, and beautiful day!

My best,
Deb

Hi Ann!

Oh joy - gestational diabetes - yuck!
I hope it's just a fluke and you pass the 3 hours w/flying colors!!!!!
Congrats on the no-relapse. Hope those happy expecting hormones kick that cold in the arsh and it leaves you quickly.

Though the doc can tell you to test or not test when sick, I don't think it should be a problem. I've done it a handful of times.

Most importantly............HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY !!!

Happy early birthday to you. May your gift be the lifting of this cold and you feel good to enjoy the cake and ice cream.

It's great that you are not in relapse- whcih would have been unusual with your pregnancy.

Take care and relax as much as you can.

be well, be  better,
Lulu
