These "phantom" sensations are very common with MS. My "favorite" is the cold water flowing on my scalp to the point I have to reach up and wipe my head only to find nothing is there.
Our nervous system can really play tricks on the sensations we experience when the signal is corrupted by our MS.

Yes, I too have experienced these odd senstations. Usually it is a kind of burning in my foot (right) and many times a sensation of water running down my arms, or legs. These senstations come and go and fortunately they have been gone now for weeks but I never know when they will come up.

I've had some major foot pain lately along with weird sensations. I talked to my neuro about it but she told me to get some good shoes. She has been the best neuro, spending 2-3 hours with me at every appointment even thought they are only 30 -1 hr appts. I was disappointed. As soon as I went to a foot dr, he took x-rays and said it's not wonder your feet hurt (besides the weird MS symptoms). He fitted me for custom orthodics that I will get this week! I would check out seeing a Podiatrist! They may have some answers that the Neuros don't have. I'm so glad I went. Good luck!
