So, most of you have heard my ongoing vision issues - it is my most important medical concern, at the moment.
Brief visual sx:
One or the other eye: intermittent differences in color vision typically with greens, reds and browns, whites.
Double vision looking with both eyes at times.
Left eye: vertical double vision in this eye only, small scotoma just outside my center vision, a slight decrease in color in the visual field. (Example: black looks grey)
Right eye: ON symptoms despite by VEP showing no latency. Eye pain on movement has been something I've been dealing with consistently since November. It started out pretty severe and daily then has slowly subsided but I still intermittently have it (yes 10 months later).
Color saturation issues: I have gone nearly blind in this eye. It shades things too dark while in the sun. (I am not explaining this well - green looks darker, dark skin tones look black.) This happens any time I'm in full sun outside.
This eye is also the eye my first Neurologist picked up on very slight INO. I have pictures where you can see it. (Those are going to the Msologist with me.)
I also have felt my eyes bounce a lot and I have a lack of coordination between them when trying to fix on a point a lot of times. I am not sure about the fixing gaze thing but the eyes bouncing is called Nystagmus. My first Neuro picked up on that as well. (Told me about it but failed to document it on my chart.)
Sometimes it seems like I can see a very very faint flutter --- like a tremor too --- not sure what that is about yet either.
I also have decreased sensation, heaviness surrounding that eye and sometimes it feel tired on bad days.
Asymmetry between my eyes. Right eye seems different at times.
I also have a very strange peripheal vision issue. I can not really explain it except that it seems like something is "there."
Lastly, I don't really see things in my right eye with contrast - even though my eyeside is 20/25 - it's now blurry and things appear 2D or "flat."
That's the best way I describe all this and no one has been able to figure it out what's causing this...yet. Today, I'm having another bad day. Most of the above symptoms are apparent. Do YOU remember the days where you might look at yourself in the mirror and see if your symptoms are noticeable? Okay, now visualize this. LOL~
I was in the bathroom looking at myself and testing the decreased sensation and the asymmetry ... I'd raise my eyebrows then watch and I noticed that my left eyebrow/eyelid drops down slowly into the original position BUT my right eyebrow/eyelid flutters up a bit when it reaches the original position. It looks like a reflex is affected. It's like a very very fine clonus.
Anyone with way more experience and knowledge have any idea's? Have you experienced this?
