Yes Sarah...some warm woolie long underwear will definitely be in order! Get some warm mitts and a good hat too...the heat leaves your body through your head so you need to keep your head covered and you will be best kind! Have fun in Norway...can't wait to hear about it!
Hugs,
Rena
And here I am in England thinking it is cold at -2. Moaning at defrosting the car every morning to get my daughter onto her school minibus and hoping the roads are not icy.
I don't think we are very good at what we think is cold weather here but I have got winter tyres this year! I think that we forget that many countries do not come to a standstill when it snows.last year my daughter's school was shut for two weeks due to snow.
I am going to Norway in March to see the Northern Lights and think that will be cold by your standards so I need to buy some thermals.
Love Sarah x
Actually honey, this is going to be a really bad winter according to all the signs. My mountain ash is loaded with berries and the birds have emptied our bird feeders a couple times all ready. The farmer's almanac though says we better batten down the hatches...just a bit of a warning girl! Keep warm girl!
Hugs,
Rena
Well it's warmed up a whole lot today...+3! Imagine that, from -28 to +3 in a matter of a day! It's not exactly melting mind you but we will take it! I don't know how long the "tropical heat wave" is going to last but we are gonna enjoy it while it lasts!
I have to agree with you though dv1...it sure darkens the days doesn't it?
Hugs,
Rena
Your posts give me the shivers - I am dreading the onset of winter here. Fortunately it is not a long or severe as what you experience.
stay warm,
Lulu
I hear you Rena, it is crazy cold way up here in northern Alberta. Low of -31C yesterday but felt like -38 with windchill. It is just brutal. Supposed to warm up here as well in the next few days. Actually it was *only* -20 this morning and it actually did not feel bad at all compared to yesterday. Got a looooooong winter ahead of us. Worse than the cold is how little daylight we are getting, and still a month away from the shortest day of the year. Sun just coming up at just as I leave for work about 8:30am and starting to set mid-afternoon. Same complaints I have every winter, blah blah blah.
Fellow northerners, remember to take extra vitamin D over the next several months!
And a few fuzzy dogs, too! Keep warm!
It's supposed to get down to -2C here tonight (in the Santa Cruz Mts.)! We're getting the tail of your front!
Now thats the type of weather that calls for a doona suit, dont know if you can get them where you are but they are literally pants and top made out of doona/quilt/dovay and they look really warm and comfortable.
I'd recommend half a dozen lap cats that like to share lol stay warm!
Cheers....JJ
That sounds REALLY good! Too bad I have no hot chocolate, whipped cream, chocolate syrup, cherries or peppermint sticks and it's too COLD to go out and get them! ha ha
It is supposed to warm up for the rest of the week so I will get those ingredients and give em a try during our next "cold snap"! Thanks!
You need my receipe for hot chocolate. Make a cup of hot chocolate. Top it with real whipped cream. Drizzle chocolate syrup over it. Top with a cherry. Add a peppermint stick. YUMMY!!!
