Maybe some help ahead?

I've been in a horrible depression for the last couple of days.  Somehow today started to feel better, and I just got an appointment notice for the Mpls Dept of Neurology in the mail.  I was procrastinating calling to make the appt.  Turns out my doc made it for me...It's not til 8/12, but that is kind of quick, I think?

Cross your fingers!

Thanks for caring!  I really think I'm OK for now. I may have just needed a good cry at the time.  My husband is returning to his supportive old self, so that helps a lot.

I believe that the proper thing for the doctor to do would be to review with you the med you are on, check the dosage is correct for you and either

A) up the dosage

B) change the med to something different

C) recommend professional counseling, which as you already know many here do ....

there are probably other options as well, but I think those would bethe top three.

please don't suffer in silence when help is available.

So, just curious, if I were to call my PCP with a "depressive" episode but am already on antidepressants, I wonder what she would say/do?

Up the antidepressants, I suppose.

Heather,
I think that is the perfect timing for your appt - Aug. 12 is not that far off.  In the meantime, if the depression returns, please call your PCP and be seen.  It can be so difficult to treat on our own.

crossing my fingers and toes,
Lulu
