It's baaaack.

Gosh darn it. Things were going so well. Now after about two weeks of continuously elevated temps, these neuro things are coming back one by one. This time with my first episode of urge incontinence. Now I'm really peed off.

Here we go again!

There has been a lot of peed off folks around here lately. I do understand your concern in that regard. But they've cultured, cultured, and cultured again.

This week I do have an cystoscopy appointment scheduled. Funny thing was, I had the urge, but the bladder was not full. What's up with that?

They've been trying to find the source of this fever for three months now. The latest lab results show antithyroid peroxidase antibodies several times higher than normal. Between this and the low complement (plus now showing WBCs and RBCs in urine that's culture negative), it's looking like an autoimmune thyroid disease that's cross reacting with my nervous system and possibly the urinary tract.

This is the current suspect. So far, it's the most they've been able to find. And they've done some very extensive testing.

Hashimoto's thyroiditis and encephalopathy. But no treatment yet. I'm waiting for the referral to the neuroimmunologist.

Now tell me the cause of the elevated temperature.... could it be you have brewed a good UTI?  The urge incontinence would fit that scenario.  There's been a lot of being peed off around here lately.

how about dental infection?  Have you neglected dental work?

Fever is going to make you feel like crap - remember our bodies aren't fond of the heat and there's nothing hotter than an internal crank of the thermostat.  find that source of the fever, and don't mess around, ok?

be well, Lulu
