Quix,
You do make me chuckle - I don't know it might be just as much fun to have those tests done simultaneously.... I had them both plus a whole lot more this spring. The prep was the worst as you know, so just take a book with you into the bathroom and be prepared to spend some quality reading time .... :-) My legs actually fell asleep, but I got 200 pages done in FRIDAY NIGHT KNITTING CLUB.
My AARP magazine last month had a blurb about a new pill for the colonblow prep... that would be so much better than drinking that toxic brew.
My best to the rest of you - TGIS - Saturday couldn't come soon enough this week.
As always,
Laura
DB--I'm glad to hear that your week was awesome after returning to work! I bet your worries were put to rest . . .
Shell-- I've had an okay week. I've been having more vision problems, lately, and I don't know what to think about it.
Does it sound like MS optic neuritis to have four images for every street light? I went from two, to three, and now four images when looking at lights. Before you know it, I'll be seeing things just like a fly, I guess. My vision is just plain blurry in the day time. I'm still hearing loud ring when I turn my eyes and will get sparklers in the peripheral vision.
Quix--I'm sorry to hear that you're going through a down time. I know how it is with the "good stress" creating havok on your body. This happens to me a lot. My body also doesn't appreciate doing a little extra physical activity, either. My sister had her nasty fall during the year that she was selected Teacher of the Year for Texas and met President. I'd never seen her so happy prior to the fall--but that good stress, I think, did her in.
I'm hearing that the colonoscopy is getting to be an easier experience. I had mine a few years ago and was put under anesthesia--that part of it wasn't too bad. It was the part before-hand with drinking this nasty tasting liquid thingy that kept me on the potty all day. A friend of mine that has had his recently, didn't have to drink the vile lemon drink that kept him on the commode. Maybe this approach has changed???? One can hope . . .
Hugs,
Deb
Hi, to both of you and, DB, I'm thrilled you're back at work and doing well so far!
I have not had a great week. Am not feeling so good, spending most of my time asleep. The little energy I had was used on a mini-family reunion in which I saw a favorite cousin for the first time in decades! That part was fabulous, but really knocked me out.
I've been having some tummy troubles and saw the GI specialist this week. He wants to do an upper endoscopy and a colonoscopy ASAP and simultaneously (though I presume it will actually be sequentially...). And he wants to do it under anesthesia, so I've been setting all of that up for next Thursday morning.
I'm behind on my household paperwork and trying to get that done. I'll try to be back on the forum by this weekend.
Shell and Momzilla are still both very busy, so if all of you would continue to help out greeting new people and working to get answers questioned, we will be eternally greatful.
luv ya all
Quix
Hi and happy Friday to you too! I hope that whatever has you busy tonight is a fun, sociable kind of busy, and not more work.
My week was AWESOME! I officially returned to work this week and could not be more pleased. I'm just doing half days to start, probably splitting my time 50/50 between home and office.
I have a beautiful new office (my team moved buildings during my absence), lots of huge windows and sunlight (hopefully some UV rays will permeate the glass and deliver me some vitamin D! ha ha) and someone left behind some gorgeous plants that I hope don't die under my care.
Keeping a low profile at the office, easing myself back in slowly. People are popping in to say hello and give hugs; it is nice to know I wasn't forgotten!! I have lovely colleagues and a supportive boss, an interesting new project to work on, with no tight timelines. And back on 100% salary. Who could ask for more?!
Best week in a very long time. Thanks for asking!
