My Vertigo is worse, and is this normal??

Hi again...I'm still having horrible vertigo type spells... three or more in a day... they seem to be getting worse in a way that is different... I'll try to explain this and let me know if others have these type of feelings OK...

I get a strange feeling come over me... abit nauseated, then it feels like my eyes are moving back and forth...I sit down or lay down by the time this happens, or I will fall down.  Then the room seems to move back and forth... I have to hold my body stiff and not move myself...if I try to relax while laying down, or if I move at all..my arms and legs will start to jerking and flying around uncontrollably... so my hubby will hold my legs and arms carefully... if I try to lift my head up from the couch or chair...I fall over dead weight...no control of my head... I

can't move it or I wil fall over.... this can last from 5 min to 20 mins...then I'm exhausted.  My ears sometimes not always feel full and sore...not always... once in awhile... I get Tinnitus almost everytime..but then I have this almost 24/7...  my head feel pressure, no headache... just full... it takes hours to a full day for me to feel better...and when it happens more then once a day...the fatigue can last for a few days..

Is this what Vertigo sounds like?  It seems to be getting worse.. I hope I can explain this to the Dr when I see her on Wed... maybe I should write this down...just like this.  Any ideas ... I know others get dizziness or vertigo..is it like this?

thanks for any help with this..
like always

Hi Wibble Wobble!!!  I'm sure with the vertigo you do feel like a wibble wobble, huh?

I hope you can find out what this is an get some help.  I have been very fortunate not to have this problem, just a little dizziness every now and again.  I can't imagine how vertigo or something like this would feel.

Please take care of yourself.

Hugs,

Wobbly,
I know Q said this sounds like vertigo, but I'm wondering if you have ever been checked for epilepsy?  the flailing arms and legs as well as the thirst afterwards makes me wonder.... there are so many different types of seizures though they usually last just a few minutes.

I happen to have the recent neurology now issue here and they wrote about epilepsy so that may be why that jumped into my brain.... one of the types they wrote about is simple partial seizures where you do remain concious - maybe the vertigo is unleashing a seizure of some sort? Always keep open to the possibility of more than one thing going on with you

This is just my very wild stab at trying to make something fit for you - by all means print out your description above and take it and your husband to your appt. on Wednesday.

good luck,
Lu

thanks for the info.. it helps...my hubby and I are concerned about the arms and leg flairing around, it doesn't happen all the time..once in awhile...I usually stay still or hold on tight... till it stops.. does the not able to move your head or you fall over normal??  WOW...

I went to two different ENT and had a water in the ear test...they said it's not my inner ear?? they said Neurological?   but I think it's my ears, who am I though..hehehe??  it just feel like them for some reason... my GP looks at them when they feel full or sore and he see nothing??

so it's normal with vertigo to feel like you can't lift your head or you will fall over like dead weight... ?  I guess I panic abit as well as I get very thirsty and need a drink of water or something after..

thanks for your answer and I will print this off for the Dr..
have a good night.. almost bedtime.
take care

It sure sounds like vertigo.  The arms and legs jerking or flailing is not characteristic, but feeling the need to be absolutely still was something I had.  Also the horrible "hangover" from it was something that I had.  The fatigue is typical of problems with the vestibular system.  When your automatic balance system is out-o-whack your eyes take over.  This essentially uses conscious energy for what should be automatic and behind the scenes.  Think of a program that uses up all your RAM doing things that the CPU is supposed to handle.  Everything slows down.

Can you get hubby to catch a video of  any eye movement that occurs?

Vertigo can be peripheral (within the inner ear) so would not be related to MS or central - caused by lesions in the brainstem or 8th Cranial Nerve.  MS could be the cause of central vertigo.

As to writing it down.  You just did.  Just print out your post and give it to your neuro.

Sheesh, it would seem that you should be nearing a diagnosis.
