Hi Blue,

We have all been where you are. Unexplained things happening to us for no obvious reason.

We all find our way down the path towards answers. Many of us get them in the form of a firm diagnosis. Some haven't found the answers yet.

I knew something was wrong during my last relapse and pretending otherwise was not an option. SO into the rabbit hole I dove :-) For me finding out that I had MS was a lot less scary than not knowing what was going on!

Thank you so much Laura, I want to thank you for your care and time and energy listening, good stab at it, I will read again.
I wanted to learn how to post a reply to thank you first before I re-read your post. I sure appreciate you words and hugs, I really really needed it so bad.I'm so emotionally crazy that I can't seem to get it together yet.
I have appt with dr for my depression on 4th,
I had mri had 3 paletes, 2 little one larger in the back of brain
they want me to go to neuro.
I'm scared to go, but just as I thought it is better to go and try and hold off the symptoms.
my arm is a little numb,
I was talking about my emotions earlier,
but not my arm is feeling a little weird.
Had a optic migraine, lost a vision on right eye for a little while, got mri, they want all the more tests.

Want to thank you again, with big gratitude for your thoughts of me.
wish you the best
sorry so messy, in writing you all, I'm a mess right now. very scared and nervous
thank you again

My sincere super thankfulness for your time and energy answering my cry for help, I'm so hyper in my thoughts and feelings right  now, I can hardly focus. I will read your comment again, but wanted to really thank you for what you said and encouraging me.

I got a MRI, had two small paletes, one larger in the back of brain.
They want me to go to neuro, and I'm so scared, so scared.
Sorry, so sorry I'm so raw with emotions.
but thank you so much for your thoughts of me
sincerely

hi and welcome to our little corner of the web - I'm going to take a stab at this and you can let me know if we have read your question wrong.

20+ years ago, a diagnosis (dx) of MS was horrible and the drugs to treat MS were just coming on the market.  The first one- there was such a demand they held a lottery and only a lucky few got to treat their MS.  Now we have TEN drugs approved and even more in the final stages of testing and approval. This gives us the chance that if our MS doesn't respond to the first drug we try, we can be moved to other types.

Treating MS early and aggressively is very important in my mind.  It used to be that the average life span of someone with MS was 7 years fewer than our 'healthy' counterparts.  That is no longer true - we will usually live as long as the next person. Even better news is the majority of us will remain ambulatory - walking on our own - and not need that wheelchair most everyone pictures  for people with MS.

Depression is very common with MS - it can be situational or organic.  MS erodes the myelin in the brain and can do damage that creates depression and the other side is living with a chronic disease (any of them, not just MS) can be depressing.  Either way, be sure to talk to your doctor and consider counseling to sort this out.

NMSS offers peer counselors and you can find their number on the website - often talking to someone else with MS helps to better understand what you might be feeling and facing.

And of course, we are more than happy to answer your questions here or just listen - we do both of those pretty good.  The rabbit hole is too easy to slip down so be sure to reach out for help.  gentle hugs, Laura

Hi there & welcome,
I'm unsure of the meaning of your question. Have you just been diagnosed with MS?

If you have just been dx'd then yes there are many disease modifying treatments available for MS. There are a lot of misconceptions out there about MS & that you will end up in a wheelchair or worse. This is not always the case & many people with MS you would look at & not know they have MS.

It is a very varied condition with symptoms so vast that there are not really 2 people who have the same symptoms. It depends of what area of the Central Nervous System is affected by demyelination.

It can be daunting to be dx'd with something like MS & therefor seeking some counselling is a fairly good idea. Also having a basic knowledge of MS will certainly help you in the long run to understand exactly what you are dealing with. Please ask the forum any questions you may have. Even if you add a bit more information about yourself. I'm sorry if you are very frightened at the moment but this forum is one of the best places to go to with a very kind & caring community.

Take Care,

Karry.
