Woke up today and can hardly walk

Not sure what is going on, I didn't over do it or anything, the only thing I did yesterday was go out to dinner, so there is no possible way I overdid it and exhausted myself. This usually only happens to me when I over-do it .

My upper thigh feels like it is going to snap everytime I take a step. My hip feels like it is going to pop out of place. My shin and foot are on fire. Not sure what is going on. Maybe a flare? Not sure but it sure is uncomfortable and I know that today I will be sitting and laying around, not doing much.

I sure do hope it doesn't last long, nothing like feeling like your leg is going to snap with each step.

I am feeling better today, not so much pain but very weak. Thought I would do some laundry, not that the mounds of dirty clothes needed to be cleaned lol Anyway I had made probably 4 trips up and down the stairs and on my last trip down I fell down like 3 steps and clobbered my head and arm against the wall.

It was like my leg was ooberly heavy and I was going down and then I couldn't move it to step down, probably me trying to move to fast, but I don't feel like I was going to fast. but needless to say Luis did the rest of the stair climbing. When I walked in he looked at me and asked what happened and I didn't want to tell him but my head was bleeding a bit so he knew.

So my stair days are over for a while before I end up injured and in the hospital. Guess i should have known better since my leg was so bad yesterday but it needed to be done and I just did it without thinking. Usually my son or Luis does the laundry and I fold it and put it away so not sure why I decided to do it today but I won't make that mistake again. The sad thing is that I wasn't carrying clothes I just put them in the dryer. :(

I wake each morning not able to walk.  I bought a scooter that I keep next to my bed.  After I am up for an hour or so I am able to move aroud better as the day goes on.  The scooter was a gift from my son.  I treasure it.  It gives me legs when my legs are not working!

Exactly, I am more at ease now just knowing that it is from the infection. I don't know why I didn't put two and two together. I didn't even think of the infection as the cause of the pain I am enduring, I will be off the antibiotics in a couple of days so we'll see how it goes from there.

Thanks again for your input and helping me remember the infection lol

Quix,

Thank you, I am on antibiotics for a kidney infection as of now so maybe that is the answer to the feelings I am having. I didn't even think about that until you just mentioned an infection.

I have also had it where my knee snaps back and that is painful to the extreme, I am hoping tomorrow brings some relief but if not then I will struggle trough it. I have been laying around all day only up to go to the bathroom and each time I do it is the same.

thank you,
Paula

This may be the beginning of a relapse.  We can't always point to a reason for relapses, but you should be checked for an infection, especially a UTI, if this continues into tomorrow.  If your doc is reluctant, lie and say you have some burning.

The feeling of "about to snap" may be from the pull of a spastic muscle on the hip joint.  When my rather mild spasticity show up, it often causes my right knee to snap back painfully as I walk or step down.

I hope this is just so you can get out of cooking Sunday dinner and you'll be okay tomorrow.

Fingers, toes, and legs (perpetually) crossed.

Lulu,

Thats it exactly, the snapping feeling is in my upper leg, not around my knee or hip, but my hip also feels like it is going to pop out of place, not sure why that is but I guess I will just deal with it until it goes away. It is really hard to explain. Usually only happens after over doing it but this is not the case this time.

Thank you,
Paula

Paula, There are times when I get that snapping sensation.  It always goes away so I honestly have never asked my doctor about it.  Mine usually happens in my shin area, where there is no joint nearby - so its not my knee or hip.

It is such an odd sensation and have to explain that snap to anyone who hasn't experienced it for themself.

I hope tomorrow brings you relief,
L

Yeah I have nerve pain all the time, it is just my leg only feels like it is going to snap when I really over do it. My hip it has its moments but with all of it together with no apparent cause makes me wonder if it is a flare.

I can't use heat, heat makes me soooo much worse. Cold usually helps for me but we will see what tomorrow brings.

Thank you,
Paula

I don't know y but can tell u I have it often. My neurologist tells me its nerve pain. It usually lasts a few days then gets better. I know this isn't mucj help but probably isn't a flare. I use heat know mine and seems to help some
