Physical Exam for a job

Hey yall!  I applied for my dads union. I still need to take the test to get in but when i do pass it says must pass a physical exam.... Do i need to tell thte doctor anything about my medical history? Or can i just go in and do the regular exam answer the questions and pass? I know this job is very demanding physicaly and the fact that im a girl and weigh 115 lbs make me sound insane for even doing this but i know i can and i need money and benefits and ill be taken cared of once im in from my dads connections and be doing the easy jobs in the 4 yr apprenticeship program.. and i can definalty handle the ignorant men of the trade! i'll come right back with anything they try to throw at me! lol Do i really need to tell them my pass med history for im scared if i do i wont pass the exam and i want this bad and i dont know if i dont tell them if thats like bad or illegal or something?

Congrats on going for the new job! As for the medical exam I will echo what Lu and Wobbly said and only give the information asked for.

This is important for 2 reasons, Lu hit the first one with grounds for dismissal but I think the other reason you should answer truthfully but with ONLY the info asked for is because of the ADA.

If you answer honestly and they hire you they cannot fire you simply because of your MS. The American Disability Act protects you from this.

Erin,Congrats on getting the change to do this job.

You have to answer every question they ask - honestly.  If you don't that could be grounds for dismissal.

But you don't have to volunteer any additional information.  If they don't ask, then don't tell.  

Have you talked to dad about this?  He can give you the best advice.
