Sent a reply to MS Society

Hey all...just wanted to let you know that I sat down and wrote a letter back to the lady that replied to the letter I sent to the Dr. in Toronto.  If you recall she is from the MS Society and expressed the fact that it is increasingly evident that MS is never "in-active"and that it continues to indiously do damage despite no new lesions on the MRI's etc.

I wrote her back a fairly extensive letter explaining the difficulty I have been having trying to get the DMD's and basically getting any professional care from any physician in my "circle of care".

Well, I got another response from her today and this is what she said:

"I have briefly glanced at this and what to thank you for taking the time to write.

I want to reply when I have time to do so properly and with some thought and I’m afraid that the next two weeks are over the top booked. If you can be patient with me, I will get back to you."

I certainly hope that this means that she is going to take me seriously and help me out here...if not...well let's just say I am not going to get my hopes up...been doing that for far too long now and the crash when I hit bottom is just too painful anymore.  I can't take much more rejection and being that I am having a LOT of pain from the Raeder's Syndrome and I don't have much help from my gp or neuro, I don't really know who to turn to this time.  If necessary I will go to ER or a Medicentre but I don't know how much help that will be when they find out I already have a gp and "neuro" (if that's what you want to call it).

So I will let you know what, if anything, I hear from her and in the meantime I will keep plugging along as always and hope that all is well with everyone else.

Lots of Hugs,

Rena

Hi Rena -
I agree, I think it would have been very easy for her to blow you off if she wanted, or even jot a quick note saying she is not in a position to help you.
I think this just may be the help youve been looking for/needed.  I truly hope and am praying that you finally get the treatment your body needs...
Take care,
Lauri

Oh yea, she's on board.  I'm glad that she was so courteous.  So much so to response with asking for patience even.  Nice! This level of contact is good, and heaven sent Rena girl.  So happy for you.

I'm glad that you got a response to your letter.  I think that she will help considering that she said ms is never inactive, I'm sure that she knows that your not getting the help that you really need.  And I understand when you say that you don't want to get your hopes up, I've left drs offices crying lots of times because I thought that I would get some answers only to be let down.  It definetly takes its toll on a person.  When I went to see my dr last week for pain meds I also told him that I was starting to get depressed over it all.  So I'm on meds for that as well.  I'm glad that your keeping your chin up!

I'll be thinking about you.

Hugs

I think it is good she didn't rush off a glib response to you. She is going to read your letter in depth (I think) and will be able to give you some positive suggestions. Can you imagine how incredibly busy she must be? Of course for the one waitng it seems so so long. Hang in there, and keep your spirits up. Help is on the way.

Hugs & Prayers, Maggie

I really think this lady will help you and that she doesn't want to rush off a quick response without having time to maybe investigate the situation.

Who knows maybe she will find other complaints about your neuro and GP, and that will only strengthen your case.  There have to be others out there that they are treating badly, at least I would believe so, since they don't seem to have much compassion for their patients.

You hang in there, and I'll hang with you!!! Wait...............wait..................wait, bless your heart, seems thats what always happens, huh?  Well, I will pray that this time the waiting will bring good results and hopefully a recommendation of a new neuro.

Take care of yourself, hope you feel better.

Hugs
