Southern friends - please check in!

Doni, Sweetie, MSStandfordRN, Coach, Shellshack and a slew more of you who were in the path of those killer storms yesterday........ check in and let us know that you're ok.

I was close to the tornadoes in 1974 that was the last super cluster of tornadoes and know first hand the type of devastation you are facing.  I hope all of you are safe.

hugs to everyone, but especially our community members in Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.
Lulu

my internet buddy on facebook has lost her house, flattened. Her and her son were lucky to get out a live, but they lost 4 friends. She lives in Tenessee... So upset for her and feel useless living in the UK.

Its even worse for her as she has a chronic heart condition...I hope this doesnt harm her in anyway..

So sorry for all that lost their lives it must have been terrifying.

Hi Lu,

I'm okay, but it was a scary day.  We had a tornado hit here in our little town of Pell City around 6 am that morning.  We had one friend who lost his home, but we were lucky that it missed us by a little.

The Tuscaloosa tornado just missed my step son's home by a mere 2 blocks!!!!  Needless to say my hubby was having a nervous breakdown...haha

Please keep all the people touched by this disaster in your prayers, it is going to take a long time to recover from this.  We have whole towns and communities that are completely gone.

Thank you for thinking of us!!

Lulu,

I'm OK! But did get quite concerned yesterday when I saw a tornadic storm headed right for me on the radar. Luckily it changed direction and then dissipated after a while

Just some water in my basement, which I still haven't figured out how it got in since it is in the middle of the basement. I will have to remove the carpet down there in the one room.

While driving around today the only really bad damage I found was what looked like straight line wind damage about 15 miles south of me.

I didn't mean to overlook Tennessee, Kentucky and Virginia, too.  Sailorsong,  are you ok?  How about the rest of you?
