(completely off topic) went 4 a drive in my mobility car YEY

HI ALL

Know this not the most exciting news for most but you are my family and the ones that understand the most.

So after having a majour tantrum about not getting my car insured till monday!! i rand first thing this morning and blow and behold they got my details and added me on yey yey

all excited i rounded up my 3 kids and still fuming separated husband (from my tantrum yesterday lol) and i said i wanted to drive to the nearest town 10 miles away (hence why i never get out) then i thought i've not driven for a yr and it felt so odd i only got half a mile before my right leg played up but thats ok as it had the push pull adaption so i drive it from the wheel which you think would be easy but teaching my mind 2 do new things when i was well was hard thats why i got an auto licence lol but i made it there and back through traffic my husband quickly telling what was slow and fast as i kept forgetting lol its was scary i was sweating and shaking but i'll get the hang of it .got a ball on wheel to make turns to but found that hard but my brain will adjust and if i only do short trips i can use just the one adaption.

My kids were so happy to be out with mummy and later we went to the cinema which killed me but to see there faces was amazing.

even though i feel like i've been run over by a truck lol and my whole body is on a high level of pain i wont forget this trip out in a long time.

anyway bored you enough, sorry.

Oh, honey, this is great!!  I'm sorry it was tough for you, but I can tell you still enjoyed yourself.

It will get better and easier for you, the more you drive.  Having your independence back has to feel extremely wonderful!!

You know I love you and that I am your biggest cheerleader!!

Love & Hugs,

Sam,
If only you could see the smile on my face - your first outing, though fraught with difficulties, must have felt so liberating.  Much like a teenager for the first time getting the keys to mom's car !!! Take it slow and get accustomed to the new controls - you brain is learning a new skill and it might take some time but you can do it.

Now you can start planning your next excursion - perhaps on holiday you can head to the shore for some fun in the sun?

I am so thrilled for you to be back behind the wheel and taking control of this part of your life.

no more Miss Daisy - you're driving again!!!

Horray! I know even if you are hurting now, all you will have to do is remember your kids excitment, and you will feel better. What a blessing for you to be able to drive again. Maybe go to a quiet country road and practice? Driving tends to be so automatic, I can see why you would have trouble remembering to do something different. Good luck, and feel better soon.

Congratulations.  This is good news.

This morning I went out and renewed my license; it wasn't due for three more weeks, but the way my eyes have been, I wanted to get it done in case three weeks from now I might have trouble with the eye test.  No problem this morning, though it's a little iffy this afternoon.

I will pray that your hubby gets his head and heart back where they belong.  If we can help in any other manner, drop me a message.

What film did you see at the cinema?

Thank you so much.know i should keep these post to a journal but i want everybody to experience my bad and good days.

Driving is a blessing most people take for granted and i am so luckey to be given the chance through my benefit to have this freedom again.

And yes i was stiff with fear, the brain is so odd i am screaming in my head hand do that or and my leg would want to and then i completly forgot at one point what any of my body parts should do lol not funny scary but will take it easy.

Honey...I am soooo excited for you and the rest of the family!  Mobility is an important thing to all of us but we don't realize how important until it is merely a dream that we alone cannot fulfill!  You have done it and I am so happy for you!

I hope that your body recovers quickly and I can only imagine that part of your body is in pain due to the fact that while you were driving you were tense and now you are relaxed...this should change with time but in the meantime have fun!

Lots of hUgs,
Rena
