Swollen face

Hi there MS family,

I've been dealing with more health issues than a little bit.......I was recently dx with Hypertrophic obstuctive cardiomyopathy and angiodema (unexplained swelling) my face has been swollen for weeks now. Prenisone and loradine , which has'nt helped.

I had to leave work early yesterday because it felt like my throat was closing up. Needless to say I have no time left at work to take off. So the stress level  for me has  been through the roof. My Dr. does'nt know what I'm allergic to, so I hope the swelling goes down soon.

So I went to the ER when I left work. My documentation of all absences I make sure I get from the Drs. but even with that I'm still stressing, partly because I was denied FMLA . So it's truly been a roller coaster  ride. But  folks I buckled the seat belt !!!!!!

Hi Francyna,

Did you stop all medicines? When I became allergic, it was a med that they kept saying over and over again, it was "highly" unlikely. Please, please do becareful. Allergic reactions can escalate if the the cause is continued :)

Thinking of you :)

I'm sorry I didn't answer your question I work for the state so they definitely have FMLA. They have a requirement of hours worked. So apparently I haven't worked enough hours. I used a lot of time early part of this year.

Thank you so much L. Yes I have a cardio. as far as my toxic affair with MS I've been getting more rest, I know how important that is if I want to feel better.

Oh my, it sounds like all this stress is awful.  Do you work for a small company with exemptions to FMLA coverage? Or do you do a job no one else can do and your absence causes a hardship to the company?  Be sure to keep records of all those appts and time away from the job.

I'll assume you have a regular cardiologist to the hpertrophic obstuctive cardiomyopathy- and are being monitored and treated appropriately.

I wish there was more I could add to help you out -
