The beginning of the holiday here...

Wishing all who celebrate a Happy Memorial Day!!

I did a good thing for myself today, just thought I would share. (I have a tendency to not take care of me, so today was a step in the right direction.)

My son is in a baseball tournament this weekend. 2 games today and 2 tomorrow. It is HOT today. The games today are at 10 and 2. I told my hubby I am driving separately in case I need to go home, or get into some air-conditioning. He didn't like the idea, but I don't care. I NEED to start taking care of me a  bit. Period.

I am armed with my cooling neck and spine "thing", cant think of what it is called at the moment. Lots of cold drinks and for Mothers day, they gave me a chair with an awning. Perfect.

I have had a hard week, still with blurred vision in my right eye and fatigue that wont quit.  It is teaching me a lesson. Must stay cooler and limit some of my daily tasks. (easier said than done.)

All my boys are in the parade on Monday, and I will be sitting on the sidelines once again and cheering them on. I am not as teary eyed this year as in the past.  4 years ago, I tap-danced the whole parade. Now, I cant even walk any part of it...Life Changes are difficult sometimes.

That is it. Gotta get to the game.

Have a good one all,

Michelle

Did somebody say horses? Take me Take Me PLEASE! I just love horses. You people from OH are soooo lucky.

Every year I think about getting myself a horse ( well actually 2 of them as they get lonely being by themselves ), but with my health I don't know if I could take care of them as I should. But I really miss going for horse rides when I wanted to. I use to have 3 horses, but only bought two of them.

There was Jake a high spirted quaterhorse gleding. He only knew two speeds stop ( which he rarely liked to do) and fast. I would always have to ride him before my ex did because he would always try to buck the person on him off.

Next there was Arisha a very gentle Arabian mare. She also only knew two speeds slow and slower. I think she tough she was a puppy instead of a horse. She was also under foot ( more like on my foot) with her curiousity. Every time I had to do any work in the padock she was there right next to me sticking her nose into what ever I was working on or sticking her nose into my pockets to see if I had brought her any treats. Unoffically we also called her Hodini because she was always getting out of the padock. We never could find out how she would do it. But most mornings she would be at the back porch waiting for someone to come out to feed her. I think if she could have figured out how to open the back door she would have come right inside to wake someone to get feed.

Fiannly there was Suprise, Arrishna's filly. We named her Surprise because it turned out the Arshina was pregnant when we bought her. Everyone kept saying that Arishna was just over weight from not being riden, but I just knew she had to be expecting. We even had people that have had horse for years look at her and check her with a stehascope.  Then one morning my ex went out to feed the horses in the morning and there were four extra legs in Arishna's stall. At first my ex thought a deer had some how gotten in with Arishna, but no it turned out to be a beautify little filly.

I was in the exact location last year!! That is funny to think someone else was there also.

That Akron warehouse felt SO strange to be there within the factory. Did you see the old cars on the way.  What a bizarre place to see!!  I think they good make a good horror movie on location, huh?!

I would like his team to advance, BUT, I wouldn't be too sad if today was their last day of the tournament. I wouldn't tell him of course, but wouldn't mind to have tomorrow off. (Baseball speaking that is).

Have a great day with the horses. Sounds like a wonderful place...

Hugs,
Michelle

Good for you Michelle!  I drove to Akron to get one of those neck and spine cooling thingies.  What an adventure that turned out to be.  The place is deep in one of the old Goodrich factory buildings.  I had to ride an ancient freight elevator to get to the "office".  (Maybe if my diet ever works I can use a regular elevator?)

I put all my keeping cool tricks to work at Pegasus Farm today.  It's a therapeutic riding center that had a family fun fund raising event today.  Sure wish I had had a horse instead of the rollator :) ....but....at least I had brakes this way.

Good luck to the team.  (You want them to advance right?)

And finally, a huge THANK YOU to my fellow veterans.

Michelle,

It's good to hear you are taking steps to take care of YOU! Seems like you have armed yourself with all the right tools to cool yourself down.

Enjoy the holiday and the parade featuring your boys!
