I was suposed to start gylenia (however you spell or pronounce it0 on Monday. The drug company chabnged their policy about insurance verrification since my visit at 8 months. It could take several weeks now. anyway.....
during transition, my face started doing it's thing. After delivery, I was uk until just minutes before discharge (Sunday 1:30). I saw my Neuro's nurse on Monday and she had the doc order steroids every-other-day for a while. Igram solumedrol for 3 times and then for time of 250. He also perscribed azethromician for my sinus infection and gave me something for the nerve pain. The first dose of solumedrol made the inflimation causeint the trigemininal nerve pain to stop! Praise God!
Ususally the steroids cause insomenia. I slept so hard last night that I feel like a new person. my husband did the two night feedings and I got up after to calm her back down and put her to sleep! I am truly blessed with a good husbad who is an awesome father!
Congratulations on the your new daughter, Vivian!!! Love the name! Love the fact she came on her own showing just what a powerful female can do if she wants to.
So, how are you doing? Excited , I know, tired I know, the effects of delivering while I have active MS I don't know. I hope the days and long nights ahead are filled with wonderful little moments strung together with love. The tiredness and all-nighters tend to fade with time but the precious 30 seconds of heaven with the first smile will last forever!
I hope you are doing okay Ann. BIG hugs to you for all you are going through. I will send only good thoughts your way and hope the 3rd one is like my 3rd, easy-going and quiet because there was no other choice, lol.
Hugs!
Ren
wooohooo congratulations!!!!
hugs.............JJ
Opie - congrats! Iwas going to wager 7 -12 so I would have been pretty darn close. And I love the name.
Have you started on gilenya/gilenia already? You're our first here, if you have.
Were you having symptoms before Vivian's delivery? Sorry I don't remember - or did your body go into over drive after she was born??
congrats again to you and the whole family. She is one lucky girl.
hugs, Lulu
SHE IS HERE!
Vivian is here! Friday morning Dec 17, the water broke. She was born at 15:15. she is 7lbs 11oz and 20 inches long!
If I can figure out how to upload a pic, I will!
Today iwas the first solumedrol.......face is drooping and the nerve is buzzing......and gelynia is dragging its feet........ I choose to focus on the positive!
Oh Geez Ann. What timing, eh.
You know, the same thing happened to me when I was about to deliver my daughter. I got a virus just a few days before by scheduled induction. The day before the induction I called and cancelled. The doctor assured me that the baby would be fine but I still cancelled. I cancelled because maybe the baby would be fine, but I felt like crap and couldn't imagine going through labor already weak. You need all the strength you can get going through labor and delivery.
Is it possible to reschedule for a few days later? If not, you have a bit more time than I did to get over this and maybe even have someone come and help "de-virus" the house for you.
I'm so excited for you guys. Hope the boys and I mean hubbie too, know what it is going to be like to have a baby girl in the house.
My best to you all. Have a safe and happy delivery and give us an update whenever you can squeeze in a few seconds.
Hugs,
Julie
Yippeee! A precious new little one! Grandma Lisa sends much love and good thoughts for a virus free homecoming and a flair free postpartum.
i am starting to get excited!
Congratulations Ann,
I am so happy for you! I will pray that you make it through the cantata well and are able to set between different numbers.
Your baby receives the resistance to illness from you, so by the time you give birth you should have some tolerance in your body. But then, I am not a doctor or nurse etc.
Hugs

Congratulations!!! How exciting for you.
I am thinking the baby will be just fine as far as the virus you say is going around. Not to mention it is still 5 days away so the virus should be gone by then. Have your hubby spray lysol to kill the virus prior to bringing baby home if that is your concern.
As for brining on a relapse faster, well as I said it is still 5 days away so the virus should be out of your body before you deliver so there shouldn't be an automatic relapse, however as daisy said relapses are more common after delivery. I wish you the best of luck.
Sending good wishes your way, no relapse, no virus just a healthy baby to hold in your arms :)
Paula
Congratulations and best of luck to you and your family!
Wishing you a smooth delivery, healthy baby, and NO relapses!
Hurray! I'm sure you are ready!
Couldn't be happier to read good news this a.m. !
Wishing you an easy, safe and speedy delivery, Opie. (((Hugs)))
All,
Any guestimates for the actual weight? My guess is 8 lb 5 oz. 21 inches!

You will be in my thoughts and prayers for a healthy baby and mommy. I believe that the baby will be immune to the virus......and I don't know the answer to whether the virus will make a relapse more quickly, however, relapses are more common after a birth.
