Unfortunately, I am a limbolander myself. I have had all the signs that point in the ms direction but MRI's have not shown anything. Right now, its a process of elimination of other things that could mimic MS, I think my Doc. is starting to see some of my signs, and with all the other diseases being ruled out , we might be getting closer to an answer, but who knows.

Not dx'd.

No burning pain.

Have had fleeting pain through the knees.

It's all connected somehow, but I don't know how. There is no heat, swelling or stiffness in the joints. For the most part movement does not change the level of pain and there is no grinding sensation with any kind of movement.

The one thing that does seem to make it worse is driving. I have a 45 minute ride to work and with the right leg extended and having to work the gas and brake pedal, I do find that this does increase the level of pain.

Hopefully, I'll find out more on Monday. If I do, I'll let you know.

I haven't been diagnosed as yet, however I've been battling the symptoms for 3+ years now. Going to a new Neuro on Monday, and hopefully, he won't give up on me. He specializes in MS so maybe this time I'll have some luck.

No problem. Is it possible for you to stretch just a little without hurting? What helps me as well (because I get really stiff),- is that I'll lay flat on the floor, put my right arm straight out to the side of me, pull my left leg up & push it all the way over the right leg, and hold it there for a few secs. Do the same to the other side.
Hope this helps.

I get horrible spasms and stiffness in my left arm and under my armpit especially. That is weird about the alcohol making your limbs feel heavy. Alcohol makes my limbs feel better. LOL.

Audrey - I've experience the same knife stabbing pain you describe, both in my left hip and also in my left knee (medially). The knee thing is new and not from an injury. Just got up one day and wham, intense stabbing pain right next to the knee cap.... Really odd. My thigh muscles are bad too. They get tight and stiff/spasmsy. Last night I was up not only from back pain but from both my thighs burning! Do you get this?

Do you both have MS?

I've had back and hip pain now for almost 6 weeks. The back pain is limited to my lower back and the first two days it seemed to be muscular, like I'd been in a bad car wreck the day before. Could barely move.

As the muscle part of it went away, I developed a deep pain in my right hip, which feels like I've been stuck with a knife. There's also pain around the L4 region that does not feel muscular. The hip pain does wake me up at night.

After about 10 days of hip pain, my leg muscles have joined in the party. Calf muscles are so tight it can take my breath away and the thigh muscles don't want to be left out either.

I just saw a neurosurgeon before this came on and he said that disc problems are mild to moderate, so they don't explain what is going on. I have an appt. with a neuro for a second opinion on Monday and you can bet this will be discussed.

Hope we all find some answers soon.

I have only been on it for a month and I only take it at night usually because the neuro. says it makes you drousy, but lately I have had to take it during the day because of the pain and spasms I get.
The only time I had it in my arm was when I was dx with having a bulge disc in C5/6 area. HORRIBLE PAIN, I thought I was having a heart attack because it was on my left side and the pain was shooting down my arm. I have had stiffness in my right wrist that would go on for weeks, painful cramps in my right forearm.
Okay this is going to sound weird, but....  whenever i would have a drink, as in alcohol, my arms would feel heavy and numb,,lol, probably totally unrelated, but ya never know.

I am thinking about switching to zanaflex. I'm on baclofen 20 mg x3 a day and it's not really doing much for me.....

I get the same thing as you, neck or low back pain that shoots down my leg. do you get pain/spasms/stiffness in your arm/s also?

I too have been having pain as well in the back. I am also feeling pain in my hip.
I wake up every morning not being able to bend down to put my  slippers on because of the shooting pain that goes from my neck down to my leg. That is definately an "OUCH FACTOR" lol
Hope you are feeling better soon
I just took my zanaflex to help with the pain. It's a new med my neuro. put me on for the odd buzzing,  cramping,  spasm feelings I get. I hope it kicks in soon.

I do. I've actually been having it since last Monday, almost 2 weeks now with a flare-up. I couldn't even get out of bed for 2 days because of pain. Since hot showers hurt, I try to dig deep &  massage my upper traps a lot, which helps with some of the pressure & pain. I guess becoming a massage therapist helped a little. LOL
But try to get some one to massage that upper trap/neck area, it will help.
