Welcome to my world - the UTI problem from detrusor dysfunction is an ongoing problem for me.  Hesitancy, frequency, urgency, retention - the damn bladder couldn't just settle on one problem.  :-)

Intermittent self -catherization to empty the bladder completely may be a solution for you.  Yes, I know there is a huge ick factor to the thought, but it really does make a difference. i have also had bladder botox twice to handle the mixed messages and am so glad they have approved that use.  Both of these are game changers and i no longer fixate on where the nearest bathroom might be.

Thank you Kyle!  I appreciate your response. I will keep it in mind if Oxy ER doesn't work.

Thanks again.

I'm not exactly how Flomax works, but I do notice that the urinary hesitancy i much less with it than without. Less hesitancy, more easy and complete voiding. Although nothings perfect :-)

Thanks for your response. How does Flomax help you? Are you able to fully empty your bladder now?

I was under the impression that this bladder disfunction was the result of MS. The muscles that control the bladder get corrupted messages as a result of MS damaged nerves. I've seen 3 urologists and all have been unable to find anything structurlly wrong.

I am not at the self cathing point yet, but I have had 2 UTI's in the last year. THey were the result of old, unvoided urine sloshing around in my bladder. The only treatment I'm getting is .8mg Flomax erveryday. It seems to help.

Thanks Kyle. I have RR MS and recently diagnosed with Detrusor Sphincter Dysserie. My bladder does not fully empty. I cath several times per day/night.

My Urologist informed, like MS, this condition is not curable. The symptoms may or may not go away at some point. Are you aware of any treatments for this condition?

Hi Cache - Welcome to the group.

It looks like the rest of your post didn't actually post :-) There are lots of us here with neurogenic bladder issues. Do you have a question?
