Lulu,
I only had the one shot of morphine in the hospital. I am against narcotics for me lol. I will take them if I have no other choice but one dose at teh hospital is ok with me just not long term. Addiction scares the heck out of me lol.
Paula
Paula, I'm glad the ER won out over the trip to CVS. Thank you for getting checked - here's hoping that you feel better (without the morphine) very soon.
You knew something was wrong and it just took some nudging to get you to listen to those voices and go.
feel better, Lu
Thanks all,
I am going to take the 10 day supply of meds they gave me in the ER and make an appointment with my PCP this week to take it from there.
Quix,
I was on a 6 day medrol dose pack so not very strong I am guessing. The IV solu medrol was 1000mg then went to prednisone to the medrol dose pack. I had 3 days left.
Thanks again everyone I am just trying to get to a normal feeling again. These flares reallly stink.
Paula, how long were you on the steroids and what dose were you one on you stopped?? This is important.
Q
after taking high dose steroids, I had to take stomach meds for 6 months for inflamed sotmach.. It was quite painful. I don't think 10 days will be long enough? Especially if they gave you a heartbun med like PPI.
Excellent!! Now just rest, take the medications and try to relax---Red
I am glad you had it checked out and they are giving you medication for the pain. It is always smart to be sure and I am happy we all encouraged you to get help. I, too, am glad you are feeling better. I am sorry steroids don't work for you. It seems either it does or doesn't...and some have such bad reactions. Take care of yourself!!!
glad you are home and feeling better :)
I am very happy you got a diagnosis.
If you have been on morphine, they may not have told you that it decreases peristalsis in the intestine. That is the movement that moves the feces through the intestinal tract..
That means constipation.
Drink lots of fluids. And you may need a fleet enema.
