Vision Problems

I'm missing yet another day of work because my vision is so bad I can't drive. I have both blurred and double vision, mostly in the intermediate and distance vision.

This is something that has come and gone over the years. While I have had pain in the left eye, inside corner, for several weeks now, it is more or less constant and not associated with eye movement.

My vision seems to be at its worst in the mornings and does not seem to be restricted to one eye. I think that it is a muscular problem. I already have prisms in my glasses because of problems two years ago. The exam did not pick up anything, but because I was so adamant about the problem, prisms were added to the scrip.

Anybody else have this as an intermittent problem?

  Hi there,
I do not believe we have met yet. Welcome to the Forum

Now your "Eye Doctor" is he an Optometrist or an Opthamologists?
Makes a big difference. If it gets any worse I would go to the ED.
I am not so sure that I agree w/ the NP that you should see the Neuro first.

If they do not want to see you, then perhaps you could contact another
Opthamologist??  Your eyesight is nothing to play with.

Have a safe weekend,
~Tonya

I called my eye doctor this morning. He's out today, so I spoke to a nurse practioner and explained my problems as well as the MRI scan and upcoming visit with a neurologist.

I'm not dx, but my MRI and history is highly suggestive of a demyelimating disease and most other than MS can be ruled out, either through prior tests or that my age and sx do not fit the profiles for other diseases.

My file is now on the doctor's desk for him to look at on Monday morning. The NP thought it probably would be best for for me to see the nero first.
