Finally...there is a plan !!

Went to my headache clinic yesterday at UCSF and the DR's were fantastic, just watching them work and they actually came up with a plan and what kind of headaches they are.

They are some kind of migraine.."Type A" I think is what he said.  And they came up with a treatment, which has to be approved by my cardiologist first.

So I am really excited..even though he said the shot they will give me is uncomfortable and I know getting off the pain pills will also be "uncomfortable".  So we will wait and see how it goes.  

Sound familiar t anyone  ?

The injection is called a GON blockade....Greater occipital nerve block ..too complicated for me..

I don't remember much after he said he had a plan..and I stopped thinking ..lol
My cardioligist still has to okay it too.

I never thought they would say "migraines"...I never would have thought it.  And I forgot what kind he told me he thought it was.  

Then I still have to suffer withdrawals from the vicodin..maybe the shot will help.  I really hate suffering, iits not my thing !

Will keep you posted, I will remain positive !  THIS WILL WORK !!

I have major migraines, I know your pain! I'm glad they have finally formed a plan for you!! Is the shot Botox or anothr drug? I know michelleric had shots in the back of head for trigeminal pain.

I'm just happy that them finally have a treatment plan in place for you!!
Hang in there and give the plan time to work.

Meg, I'm SO glad you're getting help for this!

I've never had migraines, so I don't know.  My daughter gets them, and my heart really goes out to her because she really suffers from them, as do you!
