What's in a name?

Your screen/usernames often leave me wondering - just like those vanity car license plates that spell out cryptic messages. So I would like to know more about your screen name - is there a story behind it that you would like to share?

My name - Lulu - isn't what I started out with.  A couple months into this when I realized I would be sticking around here, I thought everyone else has a *fun* name, why shouldn't I do the same?

We have a dear friend who has a habit of calling all of us women friends *Lulu* when we gather to play cards.   Alzheimers runs in his family and he often says knowing all of us by one name now will be helpful later on.    He uses it as a term of endearment part of the time and as a curse other times.  :-)

I also think of this MiSerable disease as one lulu of a hand to be dealt.

Just plain *Lulu* was already taken so I put my birthyear behind the name - hence Lulu54.

So in a nutshell, that's the story behind my username.

What's your story?

I was going to go by Hank_Kamloops, but my name isn't Hank and I don't live in Kamloops, and that would make it too hard for me to remember.
However, my name is Mike and I live in the Shuswap in BC, and it's still hard to remember......good thing I have an easy password

Fun thread!      Mike

I chose dragon_flies because it's the name of my blog, which I named dragon[flies] because I was born in the year of the dragon (1988, on Chinese New Year!), and I really love the symbolism of the dragonfly: renewal, positive force, living life to the fullest, going past obstacles, change, love, hope, etc.

I split up the "dragon" and the "flies" because it also conjures up an image of a flying dragon. I can sometimes be a bit dragon-like (solitary, occasionally grouchily fire-breathing!) and have always wanted to fly. Plus I have a dragon horn on my bicycle, and use my bike to fly down hills and feel like I'm free.

I could go on and on about this. It's no wonder that I've always wanted a dragonfly (or a dragon) tattoo.

Supposedly I'm anonymous here, but I'll bet that if anybody who I know in the "real world" read this, they'd recognize me right away.

Stormy Renee is my beloved puppy dog. She was a rescue. But Im not sure who actually rescued who. Back in 97' I had just lost my baby due to a partial molar pregnancy and was in a horrible mental state. This little furball appeared on my doorstep .She was so sickly. But I nursed her back to health and she has been my liite fur angel ever since.

Hi everyone.  I'm new to this site but find it lively and full of info, so thankyou all. I named myself snapdraggin because while trying to come up with a name for another site I was starring out the window at my snapdraggon flowers and thought that was how I felt esp since I just finished IV Solumedrol meaning some days I feel I could snap and other days I'm draggin and the name stuck with me. lol

I do a lot of rendering and sky blue is one of my most often used colors.  I think I have at least 50 little stubby blue pencils.  hmmm.... maybe I should clean out my pencil drawer.
