Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha..........good one Lu..!
I walked down the hallway today, it's about 4 metres long. That'sabout my limit right now.
But my son and his school are contemplating it - the school is right next door to MS Aus in Canberra so they ahve no excuse not to!
I wondered if anyone would catch the double entendre in that title. Congrats, you are the first to laugh.
Good for your son and his school............ I hope they go the distance.
best, L
The local walk here in my city in Northern Alberta is on May 2, which unfortunately coincides again with the Race to Erase MS gala in L.A. which I will be attending. Hoping one of these years the timing will work out better as I would love to do the walk.
The Walk here is on April 16th too. That's what it says online. Here you have to have a referral from your doctor with a definitive diagnosis before they will even talk to you. All I was wanting was information. Maybe it's that way everywhere, but it doesn't help if you are still in limbo land.
I walked around the Capital office building talking to my legislators in D.C. for nine hours for my MS walk. I also have to walk a long distance to park when I go to the legislature in Raleigh since the lots are full. I am volunteering as a photographer at are walk next week.
Alex
we're walking here, i think around one of the big malls. i'll be there. got my lil packet today with "dog tags"
@Raz- that makes no sense to me - you must have talked to perhaps a volunteer who doesn't know what is going on. Anyone can walk - there are teams out there who ave no one on them with MS.
You should be able to register online without talking to anyone - I know at least here they are sketchy with the details.
It is a great time and very inspiring. I hope you will try to register again.
best, L
@Alex - you do the MS Walk every day. Thanks for all the miles you have put on your soles.
@DV - that event always looks great. Enjoy every moment- you can always be a virtual walker on someone's team. Shell's walk site has that option. :-)
@Ufrustrated2-I'm so glad your dx has you connected with those local folks.
Hi .. My first walk will be may 1st...I will be walking with my family and friends...We started of a team of 3 and now we are at 15! we will be at Jones beach on long Island..if you are near come join us we are Team Naam <3 xo Linda
Lulu - yes I can register online or donate to a team that is walking. Sorry that wasn't what I was talking about. I was simply calling the NMSS here to get general info on MS. I didn't even get to ask before being told I needed a Dr referral before they could talk with me.
I have called the 800 number for the NMSS and talked with someone there who was nice and did email me drs on their list that are MS neurologist here. Mine was one of them. Maybe I have a resentment with the office here. something for me to work on. :-)
Raz
@raz - that is crazy. Why would they say that? BTW, everything they offer in print version is available online if you want to read their stuff. Sometimes I think good old fashioned customer service skills are obsolete.
@linnieom-that is so great. I wish I were on Jones beach - I hope the walk is a perfect day for you.
Hello! I walked in Richmond, VA on March 26th. I decided to walk at the last minute, and was surprised by the generosity of the few family and friends that I told. I raised $815 in three days! Imagine what I could do if I actually tried!
Happy Walking!
Katie
I walked on March 19th. We raised almost twice as much this year as we did last year. I did the long walk this time - paid for it later (and a bit during) but felt so great to do it.
My Team and I will be walking again this year! We walk on Sunday, April 10th.
We tie dyed shirts (my 1st time, haha) the weekend - oh my! But, they came out super cool.

To those of you walking - could you provide a link to your team page so those of us who'd like to sponsor you can do so?
Does Medhelp permit this?
Here's my team page, Db! Great idea, thanks!

Team Mary's Movers for MS will be walking April 30th. My daughter formed this team for our first walk last year. It's a small scale event but we'll be there rain or shine (hoping for a little shine this time).
Mary
DV - I would hesitate to post my walk team locator because it does identify me. I'll send anyone who asks my link via PM. Thanks for the suggestion.

This had slipped all the way to page 3 - it sure has been a busy week. I want to be sure we know who all is out there on Walk days.
