I also believe in miracles, and I believe little Ava is a miracle.

Doni, this is just wonderful news... I've been keeping all of you in my prayers so it brings joy to my heart to hear how well they are both doing... Just make sure that you and Beth get plenty of rest... I know that's hard right now but baby Ava is in wonderful hands...
Please keep posting on how she is doing and I promise to keep on praying...
I'll be praying,
Carol
Thank you all so much for all your prayers, they are keeping us going and helping our precious Ava get stronger and stronger.
Beth and I came home today and it was really hard leaving that hospital!! I have always been proud of my daughter, but she has been a super trooper this past week. You would never know that she was within seconds of losing her life and that she lost 2.1 liters of blood.
She has been a constant at her daughter's bedside and was up walking the halls on the second day, ignoring her own pain, just so she could be with Ava. Her breasts are so tender from pumping that she sits and cries while she's doing it, but she never misses a time. She just says.....it's for my Ava........
Ava is still doing good, some things are a little back and forth, but we're told that is normal for a baby her age. We have full faith that she will be coming home with us by the 1st part of November. Her due date was Nov 1st.
Yesterday afternoon Beth was standing next to her little incubator and kept talking to her. I noticed that Ava's eyebrows seem to be lifting like she was trying to open her eyes. Well folks, Beth kept talking and finally Ava opened her eyes and looked at her mommy and those feet and hands were just going up and down like she was trying to get to Beth!!!
I know I'm probably crazy, but I've never seen Ava do anything like that with anyone else!! This morning Beth got to put her hand in there and Ava grabbed her mommies finger and again those feet and arms seemed to be reaching toward her mommy.
I've always believed in miracles and the strength of prayer and faith and this last week has proved to me that my beliefs are well grounded.
Please keep you prayers coming for Ava and please pray for Beth to keep her strength so that we can get through the next few months and bring our Ava home.
With much love,
doni
Thank you so much for the update on Miss Ava. We are all holding tight to any news we can get on how she is doing. We are hopeful that she will continue to do well and surprise everyone with her strength and resiliance. She's already shown she's a fighter.
Love you all,
Julie
Doni,
What good news to hear!! Ava is a fighter and that is a good sign on the long road out of the hospital. How are you and Beth holding up? I know you must be stressed to the max.
Immature breathing mechanisms lead to the "forget to breath" episodes. I'm guessing she's on an apnea monitor anyway. This will resolve as she matures.
Keeping all 3 of you in my thoughts and prayers!

Hi All,
Ava is still doing well and is off her bp meds now. Still breathing on her own though she scared her mom and I breathless this morning because she forgot to breath!!!
She was under a light yesterday and didn't get much rest so this morning they put her on her little tummy and took the light away so she was really snoozing.
The nurse said that she is just so comfortable and resting so well that she will forget to breath!! Too scary for me and her mom though!!
We are in God's hands and He has continued to bless us every minute. Your prayers are being heard and we will all be eternally grateful to all of you.
I will try to post a picture of our little Ava when I manage to get back home. Right now I'm on a hospital computer, but wanted to keep you all updated as much as I possibly can.
Thank you ALL again, you are precious and wonderful people.
Love & Hugs

Prayers comming every day for both mom and baby Ava..............
Another Ava update.....
Well folks, looks like your prayers are bringing some miracles. Little Miss Ava was taken off the respirator at 9:20 last night and so far hasn't had to be put back on!! They are trying to wean her off her blood pressure meds and she got her first mommy's milk through her feeding tube this afternoon.
We have a long, long way to go so keep those prayers coming. I thank you all so very much, as I know all these prayers have gotten us this far and they will continue to help my precious Ava.
Love and hugs to you all!!!

Dear Doni,
I truly believe God will bring little Ava through. My sister was 2#'s when she was born when our mother was only 6 months along, 52 years ago, and back then, they didn't have the medical technology that we have today, and yet, she survived, and has 4 wonderful children of her own.
I continue to pray.
Love & Prayers,

Doni, Beth and Ava,
Sending loving thoughts and prayers your way.

I just want to add my prayers to your family and I am hoping that Doni, Beth and Ava will find comfort knowing that many strangers are holding them in their thoughts.
I was glad to hear Doni's update and hope that little Ava pulls through as it is early days and she has a long way to go. I also hope that Beth improves and that she allows herself to rest and recover from this trauma. Doni look after yourself and try not to worry.
With love and hugs

Update on Ava.....
She's still holding in there and seems to be looking a little better. We did find out today that she was in worse shape than we first knew. Beth lost 2.1 liters of blood and of course with the placenta ruptured, little Ava loss lots of blood too.
The dr told Beth this morning that we were mere mins from losing her and if the delivery and blood transfusion hadn't have gone as they had.......
I give all credit first to God, and the rest to this wonderful team of dr's and nurses. They are wonderful!!! We couldn't be in a better place.
With God's will and all the prayers going out for little Ava, I'm sure she will get through this and be president one day!!!
Thank you all for all your prayers.
