What is it with Tennessee and ticks?! My one trip down there about 10 years about and I was bit on the back by one while swimming in an outdoor hotel pool in Memphis.
I like what Lulu said about calling the dr.
I have nothing to say. I loved the title. it got my attention real fast. admit i laughed and had to open it 1st, as I couldn't figure what in the world you might be asking. ticks are never fun but gee that's just not right. sneaky tick. glad you had a friend to help and its no laughing matter i know. it was just the title that got me.
It wasn't very plump, but with how long and many attempts to get it out could have squeezed out any blood it may have taken in from me. Dave tried a dozen times to get it out with some tweezers before switching to the pliers. Even with the pliers it took him a half dozen tries.
No I'm not sure if he got the head out or not. It wasn't a very big tick and neither of us could really see the tick good enough with our vision troubles. I am currently betting with his experience in getting tick that he did get the head out.
Another thought about belly buttons. What determines if a person has an iny or outy? Is it how the cord is tied? Genetics? Pure chance? Any ideas?

D- how plump was the tick? The size helps to tell how long it has been hitchhiking on your BB. What a great place to hide- clever tick.
If that tick had been attached a while maybe it is possible it was the cause of your low grade fever? just a wild guess on my part. They are known to carry and transmit disease.
Are you sure Dave got the whole thing out? It's important to get all of the head out - that's the part that burrows under the skin. Yes, I have experience with removing these suckers.
Call your doctor about starting the drug and get his advice.
mine is also an iny and thanks to you I now have something new to worry about! LOL
best, Lu
