had lumbar puncture today

No problem - am drinking caffeine to try to avoid headache.  It really wasn't any big deal - you wer right Quix!

I thought about sarcoidosis aas a possibility since I have very bad respiratory problems - The Dr. said he'd test for that too.

I asked him if the fact that I have low body temperature, low blood pressure, and an arrythmia with problems with my asthma & oxygen sat level could possibly account for the brain lesions - he said no.  I also have OI, Orthostatic Intolerance.

Anybody else have these issues with low BP, Temp, etc.??

Thanks so much!

I did notice that the liquid was clear - I guess that rules out infection.

Big question - is there anything they can test for immediately after the puncture??

- I know it takes two weeks to get all the results back.

Thanks,

Angie

What fantastic news.  You did it!  "Amy in Austin" gave you some good advice and correct information.  Bless you Amy....

You mentioned that they took a blood sample AFTER your LP.  They did mine before.  I wouldn't worry that it means that anything is wrong, Angie.

I am anxious to hear your results.  Please keep us posted.  It wouldn't hurt for you to take it easy for a couple of days.  Hope that LP headache doesn't get you...sounds like you might have missed that side-effects all together.  That's great news!

I'm glad things went well for you Angie.  We'll be waiting right along with you, for the results.

BIG (((((HUGS))))))

Thanks for the info - the reason I asked was that after the LP they took by blood.  Then after a while, he said he wanted some more blood taken.  So I am anxious to know if he saw anything within one hour to ask for the further tests?

Glad to hear it went well for you, I had one back in Dec and it went pretty well, did get a mild-mod spinal HA, but I did not know the trick with drinking caffeine..so you go girl and good luck

The only things that come back quickly are the protein level, WBC, RBC, and cell count..the rest unfornately take awhile..I had 10 days of waiting. then my neuro said I did have MS due to abnormal MRI, positive oligclonal bands(4) of them and slightly abnormal neuro exam..

But when I went to specialist in MS only he says no, but diagnosed me with Trigeminal neuralgia...go figure..although he wants to repeat MRI in early March so he is still suspicious.

So wishing you the best news. hang in there while waiting keep yourself busy...and I will pray for you as well...Take care..Amy in Austin
