incredible heat !!!

hello, sorry it has been a little while that I have been on here, but we have been busy with the new baby and some other issues.  I have a question though, this INCREDIBLE heat  that I get, where it lasts for a few minutes, or hours depending, and it makes me feel sick to my stomach, and really, really, cranky, and I can't seem to think or do a tast at hand just get upset.  The Dr's have put me on 1 mg. Estace hormones thinking it is hot flashes, but I was always under the impression that hot flashes we just that, a FLASH for a minute or two.

So, my question is...... and I guess I will find out if the hormones don't help the heat thing.... is this MS ??  I'm thinking YES, just because it has gone on for awhile, and sometimes I even get this weird feeling in my throat too before it happens.

Any one been on Estace?   Any side effects, etc.

And, please pray for me and my colonoscopy on Tuesday, hoping they will figure out what is wrong with the bowels, and if not, they will put this down to MS too, they seem to put everything down to the MS and I'm getting frustrated, not that I want any else ( don't get me wrong), but, there are other things that can go arye , right????

Just a little vent, and question,
thanks,
Candy

I have been having HOT Flashes for about 15 years.. I'm mid 50s.  The HF I get last a couple of minutes, then I'm cold again and put my sweater back on.. It stops once in awhile.. usually in the winter time.  Then starts up again in the spring and summer ... It drive me nuts.

The Dr says live with it.  or take more meds and have more side effects, so I just stay nuts..

take care

Hi guys,
This is bit of a vent, and questions too.  I just got my colonography done  this week.  That in itself was horrible., but, on returning home today, my specialist called ( well their secretary) , and said `we have the results of your test,`  .... and everything was NORMAL !!  I said, `How can that be`she said `I don`t know, but it is, and you don`t need to come in for your appointment`..... now, most people would be thrilled with this phone call.   But, not me.

I have been going through HELL with my bowels for over a year now.  Spent time in hospital and everything, only to be told that everything is Normal.  Well, you don`t go 10 times in a 5 hour period, and then have little to no stool, just pain and yellow mucous !!  They did some other tests as well awhile ago, and no parasites, or anything nasty that I might have picked up from Mexico or somewhere else that we went, but NO, that was fine too.

So, after this, I DON`T know what to do.  I was told a year or so ago, when I was having my abdominal pain, that after 5 months of testing everything was fine, and it was my MS, that was all it could be, then one doctor did one finala test, and found a 9cm, tumor on my ovary and I had surgery within a week.

Now, do I have to go through this type of months of pain and engagement to the toilet, for them to say something.  ???

My question is `Do any of you have this type of problem, and finally been told that it IS MS ??
I don`t want to become complacent to this, and just learn to handle it, if something is really wrong?

I am so  not sure what to do now, I don`t trust Dr`s, needless to say, and yet we need them.

Please someone have a suggestion or answer for me, I really need some comforting words today ........thanks guys, !!!

Candy-

I've been having the same kind of problem with feeling overheated with significant sweating. It's getting to the point where I get very uncomfortable and distracted quite frequently-multiple times per day. I get so hot and sweaty that I often feel the need to change into clean, dry clothes just to get a little relief!! I also experience frequent night sweats, which I believe are part of the same problem.

I am turning 40 in November, so I figured it's possibly due to perimenopause...but I think it could also be the MS screwing with my autonomic nervous system. I also find that the sweating episodes sometimes coincide with a rapid pulse and increase in blood pressure(also autonomic).

I am seeing my gynecologist next week to discuss the possible hormonal aspect, and will have some blood tests to check hormone levels. Once the test results come in, I'll have a better idea what may/may not be to blame. I'll keep you posted on any progress we make.

In the mean time, I hope all goes well with your colonoscopy. Let me know if you find anything to relieve you symptoms, or at least make you more comfortable during the times when you overheat.

Be well,

Jen

I had a weird hot sensation right before my blood clot...  not to freak you out, and I haven't really figured out whether it was connected.
