What do tremors feel like....

I have been having this shaky feeling all day inside my body. I am not sure what it is. My mom asked if it could be my blood sugar (she's diabetic) I told her I didn't think so, so she took my sugar and it was fine.

I get like this when I get woke up alot also, like when my body isn't ready to wake up or something. I'm not sure it what I am experiencing is tremors or something else.

O yeah, when it happens I also feel like my heart is beating hard or fast...its hard to explain. Any ideas?

Paula

Welcome to the forum....this is a wonderful place to find people in the same situation as you are and to get opions on what symptoms.

I am so glad I found this place...its nice to know there are people out there who are suffering just as much as I am and who completely understand what I am going through.

It is really hard to get people to understand if they are not going through it themselves, either they don't want to understand or they think it is all in your head.

my best wishes are with you

Have exactly the same thing--wake up to this feeling every morning! (along with tingling/numbness in my hands and feet).  I have a brainstem (medullary) lesion to which I attributed this. I also think I may have autonomic nervous sytem dysfunction which causes me to breathe too shallow while asleep--waking up w/increased heart rate and tremor.  Other than that I have no symptoms--yet I have 13 other lesions in addition to the brainstem.  I am new here and have really enjoyed reading your posts--its a great comfort!

That shaking/vibrating thing is a paresthesia, and means that the nerves aren't transmitting as well as they should.

I would get the rapid heartbeat checked out.  It could just be a manifestation of stress or anxiety.  Or it could be something else entirely not related to MS.  Do you have a heart monitor at the house?

Thats exactly what it feels like....internal shaking. i don't shake on the outside, although when i sit with my left leg on the ball of my foot it shakes uncontrollably. I seriously don't make it happen and it won't stop unless I put my foot down flat.

Not sure what it all is or what it all means...but thanks for the possiblities.

O an sometimes I feel like my cell is vibrating in my pocket and it isn't even there, but that has been happening for a long time...i never thought about it as a medical issue...funny how things happen.

Thanks again

There's a couple of possibilities...  One is that you're having the internal shaking or vibrating sensation.  This feels like a cell phone on vibrate, stuck in your chest/stomach/abdomen.

Another is a sort of muscle fatigue.  This is just an all-over body fatigue.  I get this when I've overdone it.  When I get this my heart sometimes beats too fast too - I don't know if this is an MS symptom or something else.

Usually it happens when I awaken but today it has been going on all day. The rapid heartbeat also only occurs upon awakening. Today it is different. I am not sure what is going on.

Hi Paula,
You know we're not doctors around here (except Quix, the retired pediatrician) so this is just my guess....

it does not reallly sound like tremors to me the way you have described this .  The clues to me are
-happening when you are awakened
-increase in heart rate

But then again, I may be totally wrong and someone else may have a better idea.

be well, Lulu
