some what good news and a question

So my hubby was talking with his therapist about all the stuff I am going through. He talked with my therapist (they are partners) and hubbys therapist put in and got approval to do Neuropsycho testing. He is gonna send results to my neuro and my pcp. Will have this done in the beginning of January.
So my question is neuropsychological testing?

I'm fresh off of having this testing done a few weeks ago.  During my last visit in Nov with my MSlogist and my wife described  what I thought was my cognitive problems were, he administered a few questions, one that I recall was, If I give you three quarters,  But I want you to return it me in nickels, how many nickels would give me?"  I answered 75.  I only know because I asked my wife later if I  it got wrong.

The Dr ordered  Neuropsycho testing,  the Dr sat with me and my wife for more than hour and then  testing began, afterward he said he would call me and go over the results and send a copy to my MSlogist,
I return to the MSlogist Dec 23.  normally I'm seen by him every six months, this time he wanted a quick return visit.

In summary,  I would encourage anyone to have this testing completed,  it will establish a good baseline.

The testing for me revealed that my working memory is below average ,  I will have problems with letters and numbers from time to time,  forget simple things  in a recent conversation.   Another example, I parked in a parking deck and to took a picture of elevator and floor I was located on,   I forgot  If parked on the rise or decline ,   this happened to me twice during my recent travels,  I've sent mail to wrong address .  So looking back over this past year it's a problem,   I dial the wrong phone number once to often.

The Dr  said the damage in done,  and can't be reversed.

I can longer read for long periods,  and when writing this I have to step away once or twice ,  even though it may appear short, it take loads
concentration.

I was pleased with the testing and the Dr and his staff.

take care

I wasnt sure what this test involved or what it checked for. My therapists and hubby's were concerned over the fumbling over words and not  being able to say words when i try to say them plus all the other stuff that is going on.

Greetings - this really is a good thing but I'm not sure what your question is supposed to mean so I am giving you the two answers that I can guess at.

1.  WHAT IS IT?  If they do the full battery of tests, expect to spend an entire day.  There are all sorts of good descriptions about the test process here , if you search the site by that name.
try this link for the info-

2. WHY DO IT?  The reason why doing this test is good is it is important to have a baseline of where your cognitive function is now so that if the need comes up later (such as applying for SSDI- disability) there are concrete results that can be comparged to show a decline.

Like I said, whichever reason, this testing is a good thing.
