I cahnged my vivelle dot yesterday afternoona nd went to a party last night. I ate during the evening and drank alcohol. I woke up around 3 a.m. with an unbeleivable migraine as well as the most extreme nausea that I have ever had. Then, I began throwing up avey 15-20 minutes for several hours. My maxalt didn't help my migraine. I finally removed the patch, took some migraine Excedrin and slept most of the day. My vomiting did stop late in the morning but I still ahve a pretty bad headache. I also felt that my pusle was fast.

I'm not sure how or why your question ended up here with us but we certainly do have plenty of women here who could be using some form of birth control.

It would help if you shared more about what happened to you and what you are worried about.  The side effects you are wondering about might have happened when you were drinking (or soon after) but still be unrelated to the combination of medicine and alcohol.

The dot delivers hormone through the skin and that type of birth control can raise the risk of blood clots forming.  If you had - or have - any sudden problems with speech, sensation, movement or facial expression PLEASE go to the emergency room right away.  It could mean you are having a stroke.  (But these symptoms might make you think you have MS instead.)

Otherwise, you need to let your doctor know what's going on so he (or she) can help you decide if this is still a good choice of birth control for you.

I do hope you drop by and let us know how you're doing now.

Mary

if you look at many of the profiles here they are listed as men and not women.  The male choice is the default on the profile page and many people don't notice that to change.

Or maybe he is an unusual case?  LOL

Just wondering why "he" is using this product anyway?  It is a patch used by women for hormone replacement therapy!

Oh, I guess I should ask if you also have MS?
