2yr old son

my son will eat nothing but bland food, by that  i mean for example chicken nuggets,  fries, raw carrots, raw peppers......anything with more of a taste and he will not eat it....for instance if i put ketchup on hisfries he won't touch them.I have no idea what causes this but i have not noticed any negative effects from it.  He does eat some fruit....does anyone recognize any of this and if so can you help??

sure!  it's called "being-a-2-year-old-itis"

you really have nothing to worry about.  his behavior, while frustring to you, is rather normal for a picky toddler.  it may be that you have to survive on vanilla yogurt, plain pasta and chicken nuggets for awhile.

the most important thing to do is limit his milk intake (it's easy for parents to overcompensate in the milk department when they have a picky eater - he only needs 2-3 small cups a day, which should total NO MORE than 1 gal a week) and maximize his fruit and veggie intake.  if he only likes 3 fruits, rotate among those 3 fruits for as long as it takes.  same goes for veggies.

you're in good company!  may i suggest going to this chat board for further info?  if you want to post a question, you'll need to create a screen name, of course...  but it's a very well-read and active board (much moreso than this one... probably a hundred fold!) and you will find some excellent parenting and feeding advice there!
