Chicago gathering

Hi all,
    Just spoke with Chris and she is not feeling well, thinks cold coming on. I decided to post this out there, and see what all of you think? As some of you know I live in Chicago, and have been helping Chris search out ideas for accomodations. Looking into renting a house? or downtown condo? That way we can keep expenses down for everyone attending,and have the space to hang out together. Just trying to get some idea, of how many attending already have a place to stay, and how many are willing to share? We have plenty  of time, as there are many places available and would not book until October when we knew exactly how many would be attending. Just a searching expedition right now. Let us know what your thoughts are on this please.

I'm so excited!  Hopefully there is a hotel close to the airport, but whatever is good enough for me. And my new roomie Trudie and I will probably have party room.  (in my dreams.  I'll probably be asleep by 10:00).

Gail it will be so nice to see you again and under better circumstances.

I can't wait.  Are we there yet?

Chris was working on deals for hotels, and is trying to locate one that has a meeting room, or a place we can all meet up at. You never know with Chicago in October it could be snowing!  Thanks for the input, it saves searching for homes and condos. It is a bit hard to pin down deals on them, when we are unsure exactly how many will be able to attend. Hotels will probably work out for the best. Thanks all

If I can make it, my boyfriend will most likely come with me so we would probably get a hotel room as well.
The sharing a condo idea though sounds like fun!

We will all work it out one way or another Kasie, and Teresa.

Kasie you will not need a car, take the train into Chicago and we will arrange to pick you up at the station.
We will find a way to make sure everyone has a place to stay. Chris is researching hotels, and I have been looking into condo's and houses for rent. Plenty of time for details later. I just hope as many as possible can get here this year. Knowing ahead how many have a place in mind already..helps with searching for accomadations for those who do not.

I will come if there is any way possible to get away. I would need a place to stay. I think that is a wonderful idea.  My husband MAY be having a stem cell tranplant this summer, so I might be pretty tied down here.

Hi TC!!  It is so great to see you on here.  If I am able to come, I would LOVE to share a house with you all.  I am definately one of those that will be on a budget.  I am hoping that there will be someone who will want to ride with me, as I am kinda scared to drive in Chicago all by myself.  If Chris rides the train, maybe we can ride together.  I am so glad that you are feeling well enough to post.  I think of you often and look forward to sharing that cake with you and Gail.  Love ya, Babyface (Kasie)

Hi TC,

I think this is a great idea for those who are on a budget.  It might even mean the difference between some being able to attend or not.  However, my husband is coming with me, so we will probably get a hotel room.  I have not booked yet, and will wait until everyone else figures out what they want to do.  If folks decide to do this, then we'll get a hotel room close to where everyone else is staying.

Hope you are feeling better.  It always makes me smile to see a post from you!
