Prayers for jlock (Joanne) ((((HUGS))))

Hello Everyone,

My name is Howard I am Cindy809's husband.  I've been her caretaker.  Cindy is still very weak and hasn't visited here but is looking forward to coming back someday.  I've been reading the forums she visits and I keep her posted with the women she calls her "sisters".  She has been corresponding with Joanne (jlock) for many years.  Joanne just sent her a card last week.  They met at the ovca forum.  Joanne is a wonderful beautiful woman and during her tough times she's always given support.  She has been having a hard time since her Navelbine treatment.  Just last week she sounded so upbeat because she was allowed to drain at home.  She is so optimistic and always was willing to try something new and fight this monster.  What a lady!!!  Always there for others.  I'm sorry to be the one to deliver such sad news.  Please pray for her.  This was posted by her sister Karen:

Dear (((((Friends))))))) I just want to update you on Joanne. Joanne's blood pressure is very low and she is on medication to keep it raised. It was decided by her son and the rest of the family that she had fought long and hard and that it was time to let go. So we had her removed from Intensive Care and she has now been moved to a room so that all the family can stay with her. She is getting comfort care and all tubes and such have been removed. She is only getting her pain medication and hydration, comfort care. She had a quiet night, Mom and our brother, Joe, stayed with her and my brother thinks she has slipped into a coma. We will be heading to the hospital within the next 50 minutes and I think that since I believe that people in coma can hear us, I am going to read your notes to her. I know how important you all were to her, she loved you, as you love her. God bless you all and I send you strength hugs as we fight this disease. There comes a time though that the fight must stop and we are grateful and Joanne, with her son, has made the decision to stop. I know miracles happen, it would take a major miracle to change the condition of her body, the infection, and everything else to give her a quality of life that is what she wanted. Quality to love and live. Strength hugs, Karen

Joanne's sister Karen recently posted on the JH message board that Joanne passed away peacefully a few hours ago. Now our dear Joanne is an angel and no longer in pain. It breaks my heart to lose her but I'm glad that she's at peace and no longer suffering. G-d speed Joanne, you were truly a special lady. Blessings and peace to her loving family. Jane

Joanne, if this is read to you you need to know you're an inspiration for many women with OVCA.  Thank you for that.  Keep your feisty spirit even in these times. Do not let fear set in. You will be in many people's prayers as you go through this.

Thank you so much for delivering this heartbreaking news.  I consider Joanne a great role model, always willing to offer her knowledge and support while maintaining a fighting spirit.  She mentioned recently that she thought this was the end of her journey, I hope it is peaceful and pain free, surrounded by those she loved.
