10cm ovarian cyst

Hi there . my name is sue i am new here:)
i have been having lots of pain now for 8 weeks and was first treated for kidney infection , then the doctors thought  it could be kidney stones so i was sent for an ultra sound scan, that's when they found a 10cm cyst. i have had a ca 125 blood test done which has come back clear... i have a to see the gyno  doctor this friday as he wan's t more blood tests done for  CEA.... AND CA 19-9 and a repeat of the CA 125... he says he is sure its not cancer... anyhow he says the cyst needs to come out along with the ovary and will also remove my other ovary , he did mention that they may take the uterus as well ....   my abdomen is very swollen also...   i look pregnant not a good look at my age lol .....has anyone been through the same ? also they are doing the op maybe week after this .. how long will my stay in hospital be as i am moving house same time . sorry for the long story. Sue x

Hi thebrat333
thanks so much for replying.. the gyno did say that when he removed the cyst and left ovary that he would remove the right one also as he said there is a 30% chance of getting a cyst on that one... he then said he may remove the uterus too  but would discuss it more this friday when i go and see him for the results of the remainder of the blood test , and would also tell me then the way they will do the op .
i will certainly be the acting queen when we move :).
thank you for good wishes also .

Hi sue

sorry to hear about your impending operation....it all seems a bit drastic just for a cyst to remove both ovaries and uterus too!!!   Did they give a reason?   I too had a kidney infection 10 weeks ago and have been in pain ever since. Waiting for the results of my 2nd trans vaginal scan it all seems to be taking ages .
Even if you get out of hospital after afew days (presumably when you can get to the loo by yourself and have had a bowel motion and pain under control) you wont be able to lift anything or do anything strenuous for 6 weeks so I am assuing you will be sitting on a chair like the queen and telling everyone else what to do for the move??

Good luck hope all goes well

xx
