You don't say how old you are and if you are ovulating or not. I used to have pains in my ovaries when I ovulated.  Now, I have pain with cysts.  You would need to have a full checkup with your gyn to really know what should be done next. If you are having extreme pain, be honest with your doctor so that they will schedule a TVUS.  Good Luck!

I can only agree with the above posts. You must have it checked by your Dr. There's really no way we can diagnose it.

Good luck and let us know,
Sandy

I had been having a sharp pain on my left side as well, it felt in the area of my left ovary. The pain was sharp and brief and came out of nowhere; I could have been sitting at my desk or lying down on my bed.

My nurse practitioner scheduled me for an ultra sound, however the ultra sound technician said I may be requested to return as she could not fully see 1 of my ovaries. After the ultrasound, I was told I could possibly have a teratoma, dermoid cyst, etc. She was unsure, so I was scheduled to have an MRI done and afterwards was referred to a gynecologist. My gynecologist has since 'urgently' scheduled me to have 2 teratomas surgically removed from both ovaries, which I believe was the cause of the pain.

Your body is telling you something, please have it checked out.

It could be a cyst or endometriosis or even adhesions.  You need to get to the doctor and arrange for a transvaginal ultrasound.  Please keep us posted.
