Laparascopic Surgery

I have been told I have three Endo cysts on the left ovary and I need surgery.  Can anyone tell me what you go thru after this surgery?  Thanks

If they are doing the surgery laproscopically then you should give yourself about 2 weeks recovery time.  You will have 3 small incisions and you should be able to go home the same day.  If you are having a laprotomy (open surgery) you should count on being in the hospital 2-5 days and a recovery time of about 6-8 weeks.  You will be pretty sore and may have some bad gas pains, but this is normal.  The best thing for the gas pains is walking.  You will be put on some pain meds that you should take on schedule for the first few days (depending again on which surgery you have).  If the pain gets out of control it is very hard to get it back under control.  You will not be able to lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk, no stairs for about a week or so, and you will need to get lots of rest.  Hope this helped!!
