Hi there,
great news on your surgery. The gas is the worst. It seems some people have more than others. When I had my gallbladder out the gas was terrible. When I had all my female organs removed 8 weeks ago, I had no gas pains (Thank God). I don't know why this is, but it does happen. The best thing for the gas is to get up and move around. Short little walks in the house will help break some of it up. The tissues will reabsorb the rest but it can take a few days. Don't do much. You need to rest right now as to not have complications from the surgery. Good luck

Thank you everyone. I am starting to see that i will not be able to work. This is much worse than i planned on. I need the money so bad but my health is more important.
Trudie....no thank god no organs removed. They were able to save both of my ovaries!
The pain is normal - you did have organs removed. All you should be doing right now is resting. If you try and work you will end up with more pain and be unbelievably tired. You need at least 2 weeks of nothingness.
Just an echo of Irene... No way would you be feeling like working ! You're not even supposed to be driving for 2 weeks (at least that's what I was told)! You'll feel much better in a week..!!
Pain after surgery is always quite normal. They probably sent you home with some pain meds. If you feel you need to take them, do so but don't wait till the pain is unbearable. It's harder to bring it under control then.
I'm sure they put a lot more air in you to do this surgery than when doing a tubal ligation. The migrating gas pain should ease off in a couple days as your body absorbs it.
As for working this weekend, ha-ha, your boss is funny if he/she thinks you should be there. I don't know how large your incisions are but your insides have been pushed around and cut. No way should you be doing much for at least a week, more like 2 or 3 weeks. Rest!
