Ovarian Remnant syndrome or Peritoneal inclusion cyst

Hello....I have just recently been informed I have yet another Mass after already having a complete Hysterectomy 2 years ago........at the time they thought it was Cancer and turned out to be Benign...thank God.

But they now believe that it is either ORS or another Peritoneal Cyst (but it is located right where my left Ovary should have been) in the previous Laparotomy they couldn't find my left ovary after it hemmoraged off from it's post...they finally found it under my colon in a 7 hour open surgery.

Anyway...they said if it is producing estrogen...they should take it out but since my last surgery was so bad they do not want to go in there again...to many adhesions....it looked like a bomb went off in your belly.....well I am not in a hurry for that either.

What got me really mad was they said they don'y believe that this little cyst (2.5 cm) is causing all my pain  (very condesending) If my belly looks so bad.... don't you think I am in pain?

Everything I have read tells me that it can.....it is the excessive fluid that becomes entraped in the abdomen that causes so much pain for me.    My belly goes from soft and low.... to hard and high... by the end of the day.  And I know this is where my pain is coming from.  They will not treat me for the pain with anything stronger than Tramadol.

Can an OR produce normal or (almost normal)  amounts of Estrogen?    I am not taking my HRT until they decide what it is.  I don't know what I should expect ...I feel I need someone on my side, I did call a patient advocate at the Hospital.

I feel like I have been hit by a truck this is surgrey number 6 if they decide to do it.

my first ones showed up 6 months after my partial hyst.....but I started having pain right away and they kept telling me it was psot op pain until after 3 months had past and I was still in pain..so I knew it wasn't just post op!  Demand either a transvaginal ultra sound or a pelvic MRI they show more detail than a ct...hope you get some relief soon.

Thank You for the comment,   I wish I could afford a second opinion.

I am at the mercy of a state hospital, insurance maxed out after surgery #2.

But I will stay ever vigilant as my own advocate over there.

It is nice to know other women understand.
Thank You

Yes, ovarian remnants can produce hormones and I too am angry that yet another gyn believes that cysts don't cause pain!  So sorry you are going through so much.  Perhaps a 2nd opinion is required here.
