in pain and confused....

hi im 25 years old, last august i had awful pains in my stomach and after goin to docs was admitted to hospital.  where they found i ad an abcess in my pelvic area which wasnt attached to anything.  i was given antibiotics and was on my way.  after 3/4 weeks i had another scan which showed the abcess had gone - but even tho doctors was tellin me this i knew something wasnt right.  a couple weeks later i went back to my docs and they didnt know what to say so i asked to be referred by to the hospital.  which i was and found the abcess had reappeared this time on the left.  i was given IV antibiotics and again sent on my way.  then at the end november i had another scan which showed that the abcess was still there only now it was 10cm and pushin my right ovary and tube over to the right.  i refused to have my operation in december as i have a little boy and been out of work for so long with this finances was tight and i took the decision to go back to work then in jan last week i had my operation which was supposed to be little cut and then drainage of abcess.  but once in the abcess had destroyed my left ovary n tube so had to them removed.  ive since found that i have endormetrius.  im now sat at home worrying about what i can and cant do is my cut healin ok and is how long before pain subsides. and how do i know that an abcess wont be growing back by time im healed  i have loads of questions but findin it hard to get answers.

I agree with babyblue and I too had a laparatomy. For me, recovery was quick. I felt better soon and it was a breeze compared to my c-section 4.5 years ago. Just take it wasy and relax. Let others do things for you. It's always possible it will grow again, but I'm sure you can talk to your doctor about possible meds to help avoid it growing back. I'm sorry you had to go through that, but try to relax now and think positive! Good luck to you!

then u had a laporodimy. I think that is spelled wrong. make sure u rest. the recovery from that might the same as with a c-section(same kind of incesion). it can take about a month. Make sure u dont lift anything over 5lbs. I know that is hard with a little one running around. The pain will start to go away slowly. When i had a c-section they told me that if my abdomin got red and icthy to let them know, because it could be a sign of infection. If you notice a odor call you doctor. Just listen to your body. If you have extreme pain, fever or anything else that worries you, call your doctor or go to the ER. Only the professionals can tell u whats wrong or if your incesion is healing right. hope u feel better.

Sorry u are going through this. Did u have a laparoscopy?? Or a laparodimy??<think thats spelled wrong:-} Everybody heals at a different rate. Just be sure to drink lots of water, and juice, so u get some vitamin C. Make sure that u are resting enough. I never had a abcess, so i cant answer whether it will come back or not. It would be best to ask your doctor that question. Hope u feel better.
