ovarian cysts/pain

I have been having pain in my ovary area and groins for months.  I have had a hysteroscopy (Oct) and NovaSure (March), and I am still having periods.  The pain in my ovary area is killing me.  I had my gall bladder removed on the same day I had the NovaSure.  A week later, I was having major pain in RLQ and so I went to the ER.  They did an x-ray to rule out appendicitis.  They found a bone island in my pelvis the size of a quarter.  I went back to my doctor and he ordered a CT scan.  It showed cysts on my ovaries about 2 cm in size.  I know that is not large, but these suckers are killing me.  Could this be the cause of my pain?  My stomach is so bloated and it really hurts to button my pants.  I also have had major pain going down both legs for about a month.  My ob has not called me back, so I made an appointment with my primary care for June 10th.  Are these symptoms normal for just cysts?  Thanks so much.

I will definitely do those things.  I was actually wondering about a colon cleanse.  Thank you!

I gained 10 lbs over a 4 week period of time before I was diagnosed.  I looked like I was in the beginning of a 2 trimester of pregnancy.  Now that the cyst is gone, I am back to normal size but it did take a little time.

Ask your Dr.'s opinion on their idea of colon health when your cyst is causing discomfort.  My doctor suggested a mild colon cleanse (GNC product), and as odd as it seems, it did ease some of the discomfort.  Also, drink a lot of water.  Again, odd but it seemed to help remove some of the bloating as my body expelled more toxins.  Just be sure you are near the ladies room.  I peed more than a dozen times a day!  Those are odd ways to treat things but it made me feel less powerless over my pain.

Good luck, and don't be afraid to be pushy!   Ask questions until you are happy with the answer.

Yes, those symptoms can be associated with cysts.  I have bloated up immensely and have to wear very loose yoga or track pants to be comfortable.  I have pain down my legs and sometimes it pushes on my groin so much I have to limp.  Some doctors pooh pooh this while others do understand how uncomfortable this can be.  Good luck with your appointment.  Please keep us posted.
