Shaky legs after ruptured cyst?

Ladies--so much experience here on this forum.  I had what I was told was a ruptured ovarian cyst (right side) 2 weeks ago. There was intense pain for a couple of hours and it subsided on its own with the help of Advil. Period started the next day.  I have a residual, intermittent mild ache in the same spot and some back pain (mainly on the left side--strange) that comes and goes. My main concern is that my legs have consistently feel shaky and weak.  It is not severe or truly prohibitive but it is persistent. The nurse practitioner I see for my annual exams gave me a diagnosis over the phone and said it is not unusual to feel shaky and weak for some time after a cyst ruptured. Also, the rupture occurred just two days after my annual pelvic exam which was "normal."  I am 43 years old--never had cyst problem before--I completed one unsuccessful round of IVF 10 months ago. (I decided to be a "squeaky wheel" and pushed for an ultrasound for next week). Any similar experiences out there? Should I still be feeling shaky and weird?

I have had two ruptured ovarian cysts (that I KNOW of) in the past 3 years.  Each episode left me exhausted and weak and with the "shaky leg" syndrome you described.  My gyne insisted that I rest at home in bed for at least 3 days after the ruptures.  The pain seems to take a lot out of one.  What you describe sounds like normal recovery to me.  May God bless you and please try to take it easy.

I am hearing more and more that women are getting cysts after IVF.  I think the hormones they give you overstimulate the ovaries.  It is good to keep up your ultrasounds until your body is back to normal.  Good luck with everything.

I don't have the experience for you , but we have had ladies on the forum that have experienced them .. and they will, I'm sure, check in. I just wanted to put my 2cents in.. I'm not surprised that you are shaky ! That is a really painful I'm told and quite a shock to the old system ! I hope you feel better soon and I'm glad you're getting the US just for peace of mind if nothing else.

Keep us posted
